Microprocessor table charger
„Cube"
Item-No. 20 00 07
Intended Use
The table charger can be used for charging 1 to 4 NiMH rechargeable batteries of type AA
(Mignon) or AAA (Micro). The microprocessor controlled charger has a singles unit control,
minus delta U charger switch off as well as a trickle charging function. It has a trickle charging
function to protect the rechargeable batteries.
In the large, illuminated LC display, the current status of the rechargeable battery can be read off.
The appliance and the rechargeable batteries are protected by a rechargeable battery safety timer
deactivation and a display for defective rechargeable batteries. An external network plug is used
as power supply for the charger (included in delivery).
An integrated DCF77 radio controlled clock with date display rounds the functions of the table
charger up. The radio controlled clock is supplied via two optional micro batteries (type AAA).
No primary batteries (zinc carbon, alkaline, etc.), or other types apart from NiMH rechargeable
batteries can be charged.
The charger can only be connected and used in dry indoors and only using AC voltage of
100 - 240 V~.
Any use other than described above is not allowed and may cause damage to the product.
Furthermore there are dangers such as fire, short circuit, electric shock etc.
The safety instructions must be observed thoroughly!

Safety instructions
Please read the entire operating instructions before using the product for the
first time; they contain important information on the correct operation.
The guarantee is rendered invalid when damage occurs as a result of non-
compliance with the operating instructions! We do not assume any liability
for any damage arising as a consequence!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. Under these cir-
cumstances, any warranty expires.
Due to safety and license reasons (CE) it is not permitted to make alterations and/or changes to
the electric appliances on own authority.
To ensure a safe operation the user must follow the safety instructions and warning notices that
are included in these operating instructions.
The construction of the wall power supply corresponds to the protection-class II (double or rein-
forced isolation). Make sure the insulation of the housing is neither damaged nor destroyed.
Chargers and accessories should be kept away from children! They are not toys.
On industrial sites the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial wor-
kers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
In schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help workshops operating chargers and the accesso-
ries should be supervised by qualified trained staff.
Avoid using the appliance under unfavourable ambient conditions. This damages the sensitive

electricity in the inside of the charger and thereby possibly leads to danger to life of the user.
Unfavourable ambient conditions are:
- Excessively high humidity (> 80 % rel., condensation)
Version 08/07
- Moisture
°
- Dust and flammable gases, vapors or solvent, petrol
- Excessively high ambient temperature (> ca. +40°C)
- Strong vibrations
Improper handling (for example wrong rechargeable battery type or wrong polarity) can overload
or damage the charger. In the worst case the charger can explode and thereby cause considera-
ble damage.
Keep transmitting devices (mobile telephone, transmitting systems for model making etc.) away
from chargers as the transmitter signal could interfere with charging and possibly break the char-
ger and thus the battery.
Never connect the charger to the mains voltage immediately after taking it from a cold room into
a warm room. The condensation which forms can damage the device. Allow the device to reach
room temperature while not connected.
If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it
immediately and secure it against being operated unintentionally.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device exhibits visible damage,
- the device no longer works
- it has been stored for a long time under unfavourable conditions
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
Operation
DCF radio controlled clock
The DCF radio controlled clock not depending on the charger and requires two optional micro
batteries. The time and the date are set automatically by the German DCF77 signal from
Mainflingen/Frankfurt within a radius of approximately 1000 km.
To insert/replace the battery, proceed as follows:
• Open the battery compartment (7) on the bottom of the device
• Insert two new type AAA batteries in correct polarity direction into the battery compartment.
Pay attention to the information about the polarity inside the battery compartment
• Close the battery compartment
• The DCF clock now needs approximately 2 to 15 minutes, depending on the intensity of the
signal, to synchronize the time. The synchronization is indicated by the „station-symbol". If the
signal was received correctly, the symbol shows „OK" in the display.
If no synchronisation takes place (transmitter icon is no longer blinking, no "OK" signal), shift
your position and insert the batteries again.
Switch on display illumination
To switch on the display slightly press on the casing from above. The light is on for about 5
seconds and switches itself off after that automatically.
Pay attention to the instructions of the respective rechargeable battery manufac-
turer.
A triangle containing an exclamation mark indicates important information in these
operating instructions which is to be observed without fail.
The „hand" symbol is used to indicate specific hints and information on handling.
The appliance warms up while in use; Keep an eye on a sufficient ventilation;
The casing cannot be covered!
Pay attention to the polarity and the charger instructions of the respective
manufacturer when connecting the charger.
In order to avoid damaging the appliance through leaking batteries, remove the
battery from the appliance when you do not use the appliance for a long time.
For the same reason it is advisable to take out empty batteries immediately.
Do not leave batteries lying around carelessly. They might be swallowed by
children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Batteries may not be charged, shorted or thrown into fire. Batteries may not
be recharged. Explosion risk.
Leaking or damaged batteries/accumulators can cause burning if they come
into contact with the skin. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
Compatible micro batteries for the DCF clock can be ordered under no. 65 23 03,
compatible micro rechargeable batteries can be ordered under no. 25 24 45 (please
always order two).
