9. Commissioning
11.
The LED level indicator (45) shows the level of the master signal.
12.
Turn up the master volume control (24) slowly until the LED level indicator (45) just barely reaches "0 dB" on the display with loud sections
of music.
13.
Now turn the volume control of the connected amplifier to a suitable volume.
14.
Make sure that the connected loudspeakers and the amplifier are not overloaded. The playback should not be distorted under any
circumstances.
15.
Test both of the mixing desk channels individually by slowly pushing up the channel fader until the level indicator (45) just barely shows
"0 dB" when loud sections of music are played.
If the music signal is distorted although the volume of the amplifier is not set too high and the mixing desk was adjusted
properly, turn the mixing desk off immediately and check the connection. If the connection seems OK, please contact
an expert.
16. Now you can try out the individual functions of the mixing desk.
Do not listen to music with an excessive volume over longer periods of time, especially not via headphones, as this damages
your hearing.
Turning off
1.
To turn the mixing desk off, first turn the volume on the amplifier all the way down.
2.
Turn the amplifier off.
3.
Turn off the mixing desk off with the on/off switch (1) and then the playback sources (record player, CD player, etc.). If you do not use the
mixing desk for longer periods of time, pull the power plug out of the wall outlet.
Non-observance of this sequence may damage the loudspeakers or the amplifier.
Pre-listening
Always turn the volume of the headphones all the way down before you plug in the headphones or place them on your heads
(headphone volume control (10) to the "0" position). Only increase the volume to a level pleasant for you after you have put on
the headphones.
Using the CUE fader (11) you can set which channel is played back on the headphones. Push the switch all the way to the left in order to hear
channel 1 on the headphones. Push the switch all the way to the right in order to hear channel 2 on the headphones.
Cross-Fading
The cross fader (46) is used to cross-fade between the channels CH1 and CH2, i.e. one channel is faded out (becomes quieter) while the other
channel is faded in (becomes louder).
When the cross fader is in the middle position, channels CH1 and CH2 are played at the same volume.
USB/SD playback
For information concerning the playback of tracks stored on a USB device or SD card, please refer to the chapter "Connection and operating
elements".
Connecting to a computer for recording / playback
You need additional software for this, e.g. Audacity the freely available audio editor. This program can be downloaded here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net
•
Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the back of the device and to an available USB port on a computer.
•
Start the software to record or play back your mix via the computer. You can find further information in the operating instructions of the
software.
•
You can also play back music via the audio editor on Channel 2 of the mixer. For this, set the mixer as an audio output device in the audio
editor.
•
When the mixer is connected to a computer via the USB cable, the signal of a line device can no longer be played back via Channel 2.
