- the appliance has been stored for an extended period in un-
suitable conditions

• Never switch on the meter immediately after it has been moved
from a cold into a warm room. The condensation created may
either destroy your appliance or result in incorrect measure-
ments. Leave the appliance switched off until it has reached
ambient temperature.
• The voltage between any socket on the meter and the earth
must never exceed 25 V ACrms/V DC.

3. Description of Controls

See fold-out page for illustration.
1. MAX-HOLD key: pressing this key saves/holds the highest value
measured.
2. DATA-HOLD key: pressing this key holds the current measured
value until the next time the key is pressed.
3. Knob switch for setting the various modes of operation (ca-
pacitance, inductance measurement etc.)
4. Input sockets for measuring diodes and resistors
5. Input sockets for measuring coils and capacitors
6. Measuring socket for measuring coils and capacitors
7. LCD display (3.5-digit, max. display value 1999)
See fold-out page for illustration.

4. Using the Multimeter

4.1 Fitting/replacing the battery

To ensure that your measuring appliance functions perfectly, it
must be fitted with a 9-V block battery. When the message symbol
appears in the display, the battery must be replaced in accordance
with the following instructions:
Isolate the meter from the measuring circuit, remove the measur-
ing leads from the appliance, switch it off and remove the battery
compartment cover securing screws with a suitable screwdriver.
Prise the cover off carefully. Disconnect the old battery from the
connection clip and replace it with a fresh battery of the same
type. Once the battery has been replaced, insert it into its com-
partment and carefully screw down the cover on the compart-
ment.
Warning!
Under no circumstances should the meter be used while it is
open - risk of fatal injury!
Never leave discharged batteries in the meter as even leak-proof
batteries can corrode, releasing chemicals which might be
detrimental to health and destroy the battery compartment. Old
batteries must be handled as special waste and disposed of in an
appropriate, environmentally-friendly manner (collection points).
