LCR-Meter 4092
GB
Order No.: 13 08 50
Correct use of the measuring device includes:
• measuring unipolar or bipolar capacitors (C) of approx. 10 pF to
a maximum of 2000 µF = 2 mF
• measuring resistances (R) of up to a maximum of 20 MOhm
• measuring inductances (L) of up to a maximum of 200 H
• testing diodes, LEDs, microwave diodes and breakdown diodes
(Zv < 6.8 V).
• Taking measurements in damp conditions, outdoors or in
unsuitable surrounding conditions is not permitted.
Unsuitable surrounding conditions are defined as the presence of:
- moisture or an excessively humid atmosphere
- dust and flammable gasses, vapours or solvents
- severe vibrations
- strong magnetic fields such as occur in the vicinity of
machinery or loudspeakers
- static electricity (fields and discharges).
Any use other than those listed above will result in damage to the
product and also entails risks, such as short-circuits, fire, electric
shock etc. No part of the product should be modified or
converted. Safety instructions must be strictly observed.
Warning! Please read carefully.
These operating instructions should be read through thoroughly
before using the appliance. Any damage caused by failure to
follow these instructions will not be covered by guarantee. We
accept no responsibility for any subsequent damage which may
arise as a result.

1. Introduction
Use of this LCR-meter allows you to make extensive measure-
ments on voltage-free components such as resistors within the
range of 0 to 20 MOhm, capacitors within the range of a few pF
to 2000 µF and coils within the range of a few µH to 200 H. A
high degree of effectiveness is achieved due to the small current
drawn by the appliance. Reading off results is extremely easy
thanks to the 17-mm high, 3.5-digit liquid crystal display (LCD).
The measuring frequency of approx. 10 Hz to 1 kHz (depending
on the measurement range) for the measurement of capacitors is
generated internally. During measurement, it is possible for the
maximum measured value to be stored in memory using the
"MAX-HOLD" function, and the measured value can also be
"frozen"/held using the "DATA-HOLD" function.
The meter is suitable for universal use for hobbies, in the
industrial sector (to a limited extent) and in schools.

2. Safety Instructions

• The meter has been tested for electro-magnetic compatibility
(for domestic use) and fulfils the requirements of EC Guideline
89/336/EEC.
• It has been manufactured and tested in accordance with DIN 57 411
Part 1/VDE 0411 Part 1 (Protective measures for electronic measur-
ing equipment), and left our factory in a perfectly safe condition. To
keep the meter in this condition and to ensure its safe and reliable
operation, the user must observe the safety instructions and warn-
ings contained in these operating instructions.
