• Ahead of measurements, always check your measuring device/
measuring leads for damage. Never make measurements if
the protective insulation is damaged (split, broken, etc.).
• Do not use the measuring device in rooms or in adverse envi-
ronmental conditions in which combustible gases, vapors or
dust are present or may be present.
For your own safety, ensure that neither the measuring device
nor measuring leads do not become damp or wet. Avoid
excess humidity and vapor. When measuring, it is absolutely
necessary that your hands, shoes and the floor are dry.
• To avoid electric shocks, check that there is no contact (not
even indirectly) with measurement probes and terminals/con-
ductor rails (measurement points) during the measurements.
Measurements of current sources with inductive/capacitive
loads and measurements during thunderstorms are extremely
dangerous (because of the very high voltages/discharges
which may occur) and should thus be avoided.
Currents > 1000 A result in damage to the clamp-on ammeter.
Therefore, please check that in a measurement only one (1)
isolated conductor (max. dia. 30 mm) is measured at a time.
Measurement around a multi-core cable (one-phase) is not
possible. If, however, two or more insulated conductors
(total dia. 30 mm max.) of a multi-phase system are clamped,
the value read off corresponds to the vector sum of the indi-
vidual currents.
• If there are reasons for supposing that risk-free operation is
no longer possible, the unit must be deactivated and safetied
against accidental operation. Risk-free operation can no lon-
ger be supposed, when the equipment
-
is visibly damaged,
6
-
no longer functions
-
has been stored long-term under adverse conditions
-
has been exposed to stress during transport.
• Never turn the equipment on immediately after transferring
it from a cold environment to a warm environment.
Condensation can cause irreparable damage to your equip-
ment. Allow your device to acclimatize to the temperature of
the room before you switch it on.
3. Description of the Operating Elements
See fold-out for figure
1.
Clamp-on ammeter opening to 32 mm max.(for „gripping"
conductor rails, isolated conductors, conductor systems,
etc.).
2.
Marks for exact positioning the conductor to be measured.
If the conductor to be measured is not located exactly cen-
trally, an additional measurement error may result.
3.
Contact insulation
When measuring currents, never grip
the device beyond the contact insulation. Important!
Touching electrical conductors are a potentially lethal
hazard!
4.
„Peak Hold" button for retaining a peak value. This additio-
nal function can be activated for DC current and fcoltage
measurements and also AC current and voltage measure-
ments, but not for other functions.
