9. Connection

Before connecting the device, ensure that the mains plug is disconnected. Also disconnect all
other devices to be connected from their power supply.
Ensure that the audio connections are connected on the right side, i.e. always the left to the left
and the right to the right.
a) Connection of the in- and outputs
For the connection of the RCA sockets only use the shielded RCA wires. Use of any other cables
may cause interferences.
To avoid distortions or mal-adjustments that may cause damage to the device, only such de-
vices must be connected to the RCA sockets that also have RCA connections.
OUTPUT connection
• Connect the OUTPUT AMP (42) connection to a free input of your amplifier.
• Connect the OUTPUT REC (42) connection to the input of one of your recorders.
The signals of both outputs are controlled via the mixer controllers.
INPUT connection
The connections LINE1/LINE2 (PHONO1/PHONO2) (44) are variable inputs. They can be set accordingly by
the corresponding PHONO/LINE (43) switches next to the connection sockets
• Switch position LINE:
A device with a LINE level can be connected to the respective input, e.g. CD player, MP3 player, tuner,
etc.
• Switch position PHONO:
A record player with magnetic system (this system is used by almost all DJ record players) can be con-
nected to the respective input.
Only switch to the position PHONO when a record player is connected. For any other device,
choose the position LINE.
The input signal will be distorted if the switch is set incorrectly. There is a risk of damaging the
connected amplifier or speaker. Only operate the switch when the mixer is not on. If no device
is connected to the sockets, set the switch to LINE.
