7. Information relevant to (rechargeable) batteries

Batteries present numerous safety hazards.
Thus, it is imperative that you observe the following general information and safety notes when
handling batteries and rechargeable batteries.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around, as they present a choking hazard for children and pets. Seek im-
mediate medical advice if a battery is swallowed.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must never be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into fire. Danger
of explosion!
• When handling leaking or damaged batteries, always use suitable protective gloves to avoid burning
your skin.
• Do not recharge normal batteries. This may cause a fire or explosion! Only charge rechargeable batter-
ies which are intended for this purpose (1.2 V); use suitable battery chargers. Disposable batteries (1.5
V) are meant to be used once only and must be disposed of when empty.
• Please observe the correct polarity when inserting batteries or connecting to a charger (observe posi-
tive/+ and negative/-). Incorrect polarity may damage the transmitter, the quadrocopter and the batteries.
There is also a risk of fire and explosion.
• Always exchange the entire set of batteries. Do not mix full batteries with half-full batteries. Always use
batteries of the same type and manufacturer.
• Never mix disposable batteries with rechargeable batteries. Use only standard disposable batteries for
the remote control transmitter.
• If the device is not to be used for a longer period of time (e.g. storage), take the batteries out of the
remote control to avoid damage from leaking batteries.
• Switch the quadrocopter off after a flight and remove the flight battery from the copter. Do not leave the
flight battery in the quadrocopter when you are not using the model (e.g. during transport or storage).
Otherwise, the flight battery can be deep-discharged and thus destroyed/made unusable!
• Never charge the enclosed rechargeable flight battery immediately after use. Always leave the flight
battery to cool down until it has reached room or ambient temperature again.
• Charge intact and undamaged batteries only. If the external insulation of the rechargeable battery is
damaged or if the rechargeable battery is warped or bloated, it must not be charged. In this case there
is serious danger of fire and explosion!
• Never damage the external casing of the flight battery, do not tear the foil cover, do not prick into the
rechargeable battery with sharp objects. This may cause a fire or explosion!
• Never recharge the flight battery unattended.
• Disconnect the flight battery from the charging cable when the battery is fully charged.
