– GND
(2):
Bondings in each case for input 0...10 V and 4...20 mA.
– + 24 V (3) (output):
Direct voltage for an ext. load/transmitter. Load max. 60 mA.
The voltage is short-circuit-proof.
Do not connect an interference voltage, as
ATTENTION!
this could destroy the module.
– aux.:
No function. Unoccupied.
– Differential pressure sensor connection:
already factory-connected via cable gland M16 (Fig. 2), via
(1), (2), (3) in accordance with the sensor cable drawings
(1,2,3).
– Ext. off:
Control input „Priority OFF" for external, potential-free
switch.
With contact closed (factory-bridged) the module is ready
for operation.
With contact open the pump is switched off.
Permissible contact load: 24 V DC / 10 mA
Do not connect an interference voltage, as
ATTENTION!
this could destroy the module.
– SBM (collective run signal):
potential-free collective run signal (single-pole,double-
throw contact) is available on the SBM terminals. Permis-
sible contact load: – minimum: 12 V DC, 10 mA,
– maximum: 250 V AC, 1 A.
– SSM (collective fault signal):
potential-free collective fault signal (single-pole,double-
throw contact) is available on the MER terminals. Permis-
sible contact load: – minimum: 12 V DC, 10 mA,
– maximum: 250 V AC, 1 A.
The terminals 1,2,3 GND, 4...20 mA, aux, ext.
ATTENTION!
Off satisfy the requirement of „safe isolation"
(to EN50178) to the line terminals, as well as
to the SBM and SSM terminals (and vice
versa).
– The optional IF module PLR / IF module LON is inserted into
the multi-plug in the terminal box.
PLR/LON: supply terminals of the serial, digital BMS inter-
face (PLR); connection is locked.
DP: Double-pump operation via IF module PLR / IF module
LON
The cables are to be fed through cable gland M12 (Fig. 2).
– Pump/installation must be earthed in compliance with regu-
lations.

Prior to commencing work on the pump the distribu-
tion voltage must be switched off. Work on the mo-
dule may then only begin after 5 minutes have
elapsed because of the presence of hazardous con-
tact voltage (capacitors). Check that all connections
(potential-free contacts too) are neutral.
6 Operation
The pump and module must be at ambient temperature before
being switched on.
6.1
Filling and venting
– The system must be filled and ventilated properly.
– To avoid noise and damage resulting from cavitation, it is im-
portant to ensure a minimum inlet pressure at suction port of
the pump. The minimum inlet pressure depends on the loca-
tion and point of operation and must be determined accord-
ingly. Considerable parameters in determining the minimum
inlet pressure are the NPSH value of the pump at its opera-
tion point and the steam pressure of the flow medium.
– Bleed pumps by loosening the ventilation valves (Fig. 10, 11,
pos. 1.31).
A dry run will destroy the pump's mechanical
ATTENTION!
seal. The differential pressure sensor must not
be bled (risk of destruction).
Depending on the fluid temperature and the system
pressure, if the vent screw is completely loosened hot
liquid or gas can escape or even shoot out at high
pressure. Beware of scalding.
Depending on the operating condition of the pump
and/or installation (fluid temperature) the entire pump
can become very hot. Avoid touching the pump
owing to the risk of burning.
6.2
Setting the pump power
The unit is set to a specific operating point (point of maximum
load, calculated maximum heating requirements). When start-
ing up for the first time, the pump capacity (delivery head) is to
be set in accordance with the unit's operating point. The pre-
set does not correspond to the pumping capacity required for
the unit. It is calculated on the basis of the characteristics dia-
gram of the selected pump (from the catalogue/data sheet).

Continue the standard line until it meets the
max. characteristics line, then continue hori-
zontally to the left, read set value Hs and set
the pump in accordance with this value.
