Replacing the fuse

Always adhere carefully to the safety instructions, if you replace fuses!
Make sure that only fuses of the type stated and rated current specified
are used as a replacement. Using repaired fuses or bridging the fuse
bracket is not permitted.
The DMM is protected against overloading. The two current measuring inputs (5 und 9)
are each protected with a fine fuse.
If measuring is no longer possible, you have to exchange the fuse.
Proceed as follows to change the fuse:
- Remove all measuring leads and turn the multimeter off.
- Unscrew the battery compartment screw (10) on the back of the device and take off
the battery compartment cover (12).
- Unscrew the three casing screws (11) and carefully remove the cover of the DMM
until you can access the fuses on the bottom of the DMM.
- Replace the defect fuse with a new one of the same type and current.
- Carefully replace the back cover on the DMM and screw the back cover shut again
with the three casing screws (11). Make sure that the battery compartment plug
connection does not become detached from the main circuit board when changing
the fuse.
- Replace the battery compartment cover (12) on the battery compartment and scr-
ew it shut with the battery compartment screw (10).
Only the following fuses may be inserted:
Measuring range up to 400mA: Fuse Flink 400mA/250V
Measuring range up to 10A: Fuse Flink 10A/250V

Inserting/changing the batteries/accumulators

Four mignon cells are required for operating the measuring device. You have to ins-
ert new, charged mignon cells for initial operation or when the battery change sym-
bol „ " appears on the display.
You can use NiCD, NiMH accumulators or alkaline batteries for operating the DMM.
For reasons of environmental protection, you should use NiMH accumulators. We
recommend using high-capacity accumulators.
Proceed as follows to insert or change the batteries:
- Disconnect your measuring instrument from the measurement circuit.
- Remove all measuring leads from the DMM and turn it off.
