It is not possible to charge accumulators in the measuring device
with the power pack unit. Accumulators must be removed from the
measuring device for charging and charged with an optional char-
ger. Due to the fact that the voltage supply in the battery compart-
ment is interrupted when using the power pack, the batteries may
remain in the measuring device. However, you should remove the
batteries from the measuring device in case you operate it for lon-
ger periods with the power pack (danger of leaking).

Servicing and cleaning

General

To ensure the accuracy of the multimeter over an extended period of time, it should
be calibrated once a year.
Information on changing the battery and fuse appears below.
Periodically check the technical safety of the instrument and measuring
lines, e.g. check for damage to the housing or squeezing etc.

Cleaning

Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning the device:
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or parts are
removed (unless this can be done without tools).
All connected cables must be disconnected from the instrument before servicing or
repair work is performed.
Do not use cleaning agents which contain carbon, petrol, alcohol or similar sub-
stances for cleaning purposes. These could corrode the surface of the measuring
instrument. The vapours are also detrimental to health and are explosive. Sharp-
edged tools such as screwdrivers or metal brushes should not be used for cleaning
purposes.
To clean the device, the display or measurement lines, use a clean, dry lint-free anti-
static cleaning cloth.
