- Loosen the battery compartment screw (10) and carefully lift off the battery com-
partment cover (12).
- Now place four new mignon batteries in the battery compartment, observing the
correct polarity. Observe the polarity indication in the compartment.
- Now close the casing carefully.
Never operate the measurement device when it is open. !RISK OF FATAL
INJURY!
Do not leave flat batteries/accumulators in the device. Even batteries/accumulators
protected against leaking can corrode and thus release chemicals which may be
detrimental to your health or destroy the device. If you do not operate the device for
longer periods or if you operate it with the optional power pack, you must remove the
batteries/accumulators from the device - danger of leaking!
Disposal of used batteries/accumulators
As the end user, you are required by law (regulation on disposal of batteries) to
return all used batteries rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries. Disposing of
batteries in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are
marked by the symbols alongside. These symbols also indicate that it is
prohibited to dispose of these batteries in the household waste. The
designations for the crucial heavy metals concerned are as follows: Cd
= cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can hand in your used batte-
ries at the official collection points of your community or everywhere
where batteries are sold.
You will thus carry out your legal obligations and contribute to the protection of
our environment.

Disposal

Old electronic devices are hazardous waste and should not be disposed
of in the household waste. If the device has become unusable, dispose
it in accordance with the valid statutory regulations.
