5.1. Mechanischer Ausführung / Mechanical design
5.1.1. Schutzart / Degree of protection
Da bei durchzugsbelüfteten und fremdgekühlten Moto-
ren (DSM 3-...) Kiemenbleche zum Einsatz kommen,
sind diese Motoren nur für folgende Gebrauchslagen
geeignet: IM B 3, IM B 35 und IM B 5.
Schutzart der Wellenabdichtung:
Schmierung des Radialwellendichtringes
Bei Einsatz eines Radialwellendichtringes ist zu beach-
ten, dass zur Gewährleistung der Funktionssicherheit
eine ausreichende Schmierung und Kühlung der Dicht-
lippe durch ein gut schmierendes Mineralöl (z.B. SAE
20) erforderlich ist. Für die Wärmeableitung ist ein
guter Schmiermittelzutritt erforderlich.
Wird eine Fettschmierung des Radialwellendichtringes
realisiert, muss die zulässige Maximaldrehzahl des
Motors gegebenenfalls reduziert werden.
Eine regelmäßige Nachschmierung mit Fett ist erforder-
lich! Angaben sind dem Kapitel 7.2 (Wartungsintervalle)
zu entnehmen.
Zu hohe Umfangsgeschwindigkeiten führen zur Zerstö-
rung der Dichtlippe. Damit ist die Schutzfunktion nicht
mehr gewährleistet.

Nur geringe Feuchtigkeitseinwirkung im Bereich der Welle und
des Flansches zulässig. Bei Anbauvariante „Wellenende nach
oben" (IM V3, IM V19, IM V36) darf keine Flüssigkeit im
D(AS)-seitigen Flanschlagerschild stehen bleiben.

Lubrication of radial labyrinth seal ring
For the use of a radial labyrinth seal ring it is important
to ensure lubrication and cooling of the seal lip with a
mineral oil of a good quality (eg: SAE 20) to guarantee
the working reliability.The power dissipation demands a
good inlet of the lubricant.
In cases where the radial labyrinth seal ring is greased,
the maximum permissible speed of the motor has to be
reduced.
A regular grease relubrication is necessary! Data gives
the section 7.2 (Maintenance intervals).
An excessive peripheral speed will destroy the sealing
lip. As a result the protective effect is no longer
ensured.
