c) Opening Meter
For safety reasons, fuses and batteries may only be replaced after all measuring lines were
removed from the meter. The battery and fuse compartment (16) cannot be opened when
measuring lines are inserted.
The casing design only permits access to the battery and fuse even when the battery and fuse
compartment is opened.
These measures improve user safety and operational comfort.
Proceed as follows to open it:
- Disconnect all measuring lines from the meter and switch it off.
- Unscrew and remove the rear battery compartment screw (13).
- Slide the battery and fuse compartment lid (16) downwards off of the meter with the standing
bracket folded shut.
- The fuse and the battery compartment can be accessed now.
- Close the casing again in the reverse order and screw the battery and fuse compartment
closed.
- The meter is ready for use once again.
d) Fuse change in the 10 A-range
The 10 A current measuring range is secured with a high-performance fuse. If measuring in this range is no longer
possible, you have to change the fuse.
Proceed as follows for fuse replacement:
- Disconnect the connected measuring lines from the measuring circuit and the meter. Switch off the DMM.
- Open the casing as described in chapter "Opening the Meter".
- Replace the defective fuse with a new fuse of the same type and rated current. The fuse has the following values:

- Close the casing carefully again.
Using mended fuses or bridging the fuse holder is not permitted for safety reasons. It may cause
fires or arc explosions. Never operate the meter when it is open.
