10. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

a) REL Function
The REL function allows a reference value measurement to avoid possible line loss as it occurs, e.g., during imped-
ance measurements. For this purpose, the current indicated value is set to zero. A new reference value is set.
Press the "REL" button to activate this measuring function. The display indicates "Δ". The automatic measuring
range selection is deactivated now (except for capacity measuring range).
In order to switch off this function, push the "REL" button again or change the measurement function.
The REL function is not active in the frequency measuring range, temperature measuring range
and for the high-impedance resistance measuring range, diode tests and continuity tests.
b) Low imp. 400 kΩ function
This function must only be used for voltages up to 250 V and up to 3 seconds!
This measuring function enables reduction of the measuring impedance from 10 MΩ to 400 kΩ. By reduction of the
measuring impedance, possible phantom voltages that may falsify the measuring result are suppressed.
Press this button during voltage measurement (max. 250 V!) for no more than 3 seconds. After release, the mul-
timeter returns to the normal measuring impedance of 10 MΩ. Please wait for approx. 5 minutes after a Low Imp.
measurement. The DMM will correspond to the specifications again after this time.
c) Automatic Power-Off
The DMM turns off automatically after approx. 15 minutes if no button or Rotary Switch is operated. This function
protects the battery, saves battery power and extends the operating time. The active function is displayed with the
clock symbol in the display.
The DMM emits 5 brief beeps 1 minute before switching off. If the deactivation function is cancelled with the button
"SELECT" during this time, the next deactivation signal will sound after 15 minutes. Deactivation is signalled with a
long beep.
To reactivate the DMM after automatic shutdown, use the rotary control or push the "SELECT" button.
Automatic deactivation can be deactivate manually.
Switch off the meter (OFF). Keep the button "SELECT" depressed and Switch on the DMM at the rotary control. The
clock symbol is not visible. Automatic switching off remains inactive until the meter is turned off via the rotary control.
