Hull Construction
Cement stern post 2 at the back of the keel of hull 1 and fill possible gaps with Stabilit Express. Drill 7 mm dia.
holes for stern tube 28 through stern post and keel.
Put rudder shaft 3 into one rudder shell 4 and cement it in position with a generous amount of Stabilit Express.
Use the remaining mixture to cement the second shell. Let cure and sand all over.
Spot cement rudder trunk 5 in position, slide rudder shaft
3 into the trunk and line up and tonnett the lower edge
of the rudder and the keel with aligning strip D as shown
in Fig. 3. Fit and cement trunk braces 6 to 8 in position,
using CA-cement between braces and hull and Stabilit
Express between braces and trunk. Let dry and cure and
then remove aligning strip D and rudder.
Paint deck 9 dark grey. Fit it into hull and spot cement
at bow, both sides and stern, then carefully cement all
around.
Cut out the bow as shown in Fig. 4 and cement reinforce-
ment 10 in position.
Clamp bulwark edges 11 to 13 to bulwark, align carefully,
turn hull upside down and cement edges to bulwark all
around.
Cement each one spacer 14 exactly square into bulk-
heads 15 and 16. Brush them with sanding sealer and
paint them together with RC base plates 17. Let dry, put
assemblies into hull and cement them to each other and
to the hull. Fasten RC base plates 17 with screws 18 to
spacers 14 and cement brackets 19 against hull sides,
but keep cement carefully away from base plates 17.
Assemble motor mount from parts 20 to 22. Brush it with
sanding sealer and paint it together with stern tube sup-
port 29. Remove motor from reduction gear, fix gear to
motor mount with screws 24 and cement the brass ad-
aptor over the gear shaft with CA-cement or Stabilit Ex-
press.
Slide bush 25 over adaptor, aligning tube 26 over bush,
shaft 27 into aligning tube and stern tube 28 over shaft. Put this assembly into hull, align, and carefully cement
motor mount and stern tube to hull. Cement stern tube support 29 in position, let cure and then remove shaft,
aligning tube and bush from hull.
Next paint or spray the hull according to the picture an the box cover or to your own ideas. If synthetic enamel
shall be brushed on, the surface of the hull must be prepared by a sanding with 600 grit wet and dry paper, used
wet. If car type enamel shall be sprayed on, just wash the hull with benzine or some detergent to remove any
greasy finger prints etc.
Thereafter place the such prepared hull into the cradle, align it carefully and then mark the water-line with a soft
pencil fixed to a suitable block, as shown in Fig. 5 on the next page. Mask the various paint borders with elastic
insulating tape and then paint or spray the hull, beginning with the lightest shade. Remove the masking tape
immediately after each coat has been applied and let each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next one,
otherwise the masking tape might lift off the previous coat.
