Troubleshooting

If the device does not work properly, check whether you are able to rectify the problem
yourself.
Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical device yourself!
Problem
The device does not
work. The tempera-
ture control lamp (9)
does not light up.
No steam is pro-
duced.

the bottom of the iron

Possible cause / solution
• Is the mains plug pushed all the way into the plug socket?
• Is the socket defective? Try another plug socket and check
the fuse of the mains connection.
• Is the water reservoir (2) empty? Top up the water reser-
voir (2).
• The device has not yet reached the operating temperature.
Wait until the temperature control lamp (9) goes out.
• Is the temperature control (5) on a low temperature set-
ting? Select a higher temperature setting.
• Is the regulator for steam (3) in position
steam generation.
• At high temperatures the steam produced is dry and almost
invisible. This is exacerbated by a high ambient tempera-
ture. Switch the temperature control (5) to a lower tempera-
ture to check whether the device is producing steam.
• Is the water reservoir (2) overfi lled? Pour away some water
(see the "Cleaning and Storage" section).
• Is the temperature control (5) on a low temperature set-
ting? Select a higher temperature setting so that steam can
be generated.
• You might notice a slight odour caused by production res-
idues the fi rst time you use the device. However, this is
harmless and will cease as you use the device.
