Installation
instructions
1. Remove heating case:
Up to year of manufacture
05/96: Take hold at the bot-
tom, draw forwards, and then
lift upwards.
From year of manufac-
ture 05/96: Draw the top
forwards, press the retaining
springs on the sides up-
wards, and fold the casing
forwards.
2. Detach the ignition cable
(1) from the push ignitor.
3. Lay the ignition cable on
the base plate (possibly with
a short loop) to the automatic
ignitor in such a way that it
cannot come in contact with
the heat exchanger (2) or the
exhaust gas pipe (3).
4. Using the pressure rod (4),
rotate the ignition safety val-
ve (5) to the „Open" position,
and then withdraw the bar.
Up to year of manufactu-
re 02/92: Remove the two
screws and the retaining clamp
at the ignition safety valve (5)
and remove the cover.
From year of manufacture
02/92: Use a screwdriver to
bend back the three retaining
clips at the ignition safety val-
ve (5) and remove the cover.
5. Use a knife, saw, or side-
cutting pliers to cut an ope-
ning in the cover for passing
the cable through.
6. Lay the microswitch (7)
with the connection cable
(8) into the ignition safety
valve (5) in such a way that the
spring of the contact points
towards the rotation ring
(retaining pins integrated in
the housing).
7. Screw the cover back on
again or press it on, and in-
sert the pressure rod.
8. Release the base screw (9)
on the front corner (for devi-
ces up to year of manufactu-
re 04/93, the securing screw
for the heat sensor screening
pla te (10). Insert the cable
eyelet (11) for the earth con-
nection, and screw the base
screw back in.
9. Lay the connection cables
(8) to the automatic ignitor
(12) in such a way that the
cables do not come in con-
tact with the heat exchanger
or the exhaust gas pipe. Use
the securing points provided
for in the baseplate.
10. Connect the ignition
cables (1) and connection
cable (8) to the automatic
ignitor (12).
11. Press the blind cover
out of the cladding from the
inside.
12. Up to year of manuf-
acture 05/96: Push remote
ignition indicator for S 3002
heater into small cover from
above.
