7. Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries

• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around, as they constitute a choking hazard for children and pets. If swallowed, seek
immediate medical advice.
• Replace empty batteries immediately to prevent leakage.
• When handling leaking or damaged batteries, always use suitable protective gloves to avoid burning your skin.
• Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming
into contact with these liquids could be considerably damaged. Always store batteries in a suitable location that is
not prone to damage.
• Batteries must never be short-circuited, disassembled or thrown into fire. There is a risk of explosion.
• Do not attempt to recharge disposable, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion.
• Never mix disposable batteries with rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different charge states (e.g. full and half-full batteries/rechargeable
batteries).
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Ensure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (observe plus/+ and
minus/-).
It is possible to operate the outdoor sensor with rechargeable batteries. However, the operating time is
reduced by the lower voltage (battery = 1.5V, rechargeable battery = 1.2V).
Moreover, rechargeable batteries are very sensitive to temperature, which can result in further reduction of
the operating time in the case of the outdoor sensor in low ambient temperatures.
We recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries to power the outdoor sensor.
