Automatic mode

The equipment can be operated automatically or as "maximum". The fol-
lowing conditions apply in automatic mode:
• In automatic mode, the tanning time is preset and cannot be changed
by the individual (see preset 33 on page 143). In most cases, the ap-
propriate lamp connection for the preset tanning time can be deter-
mined. In some cases, the device switches off earlier, e.g. because
for fair skin the individual dose is only correct if a shorter tanning time
is selected. Even longer tanning times are possible, perhaps to com-
pensate the lower power of older UV low-pressure lamps.
• The user's tanning type is determined by 2 readings taken using a
calibrated sensor (calibration: see Page 149).
• The output from the UV lamps is optimised for the tanning type read-
ing and the degree of tanning that already exists.
• The power of the UV-high pressure lamps can be reduced manually.
Note:
If the sensor remains in the base station or is placed there after
the first measurement, the appliance will be operated with the
lamps on full power in maximum mode. However, the tanning
time cannot be altered.

Timing in automatic mode

If the device is used with a timer (e.g. with a coin device), the tanning time
(for the money inserted for the dose) and the actual tanning time may dif-
fer. It should be noted that the actual tanning time can be more or less
than the time set on the tanning device for automatic mode (10 to 20 min-
utes, preset 20 minutes) – see presettings, starting on Page 131.
