11.4 Safety valve (Fig. 1)
The safety valve (2) is set to the maximum permissible
pressure of the pressure vessel. It is not permitted to
adjust the safety valve (2) or to remove the connection
lock (2b) between the drain nut (2a) and its cap (2c).
Actuate the safety valve every 30 operating hours but
at least 3 times a year to ensure that it works when
required.
Proceed as follows:
1. Turn the perforated exhaust nut (2a) anti-clock-
wise to open it and use your hands to pull the valve
rod outwards over the perforated exhaust nut (2a)
to open the outlet of the safety valve (2). Now, the
valve audibly releases air.
2. Then, tighten the exhaust nut (2a) clockwise again.
11.5 Oil level check (Fig. 13)
ATTENTION
Product damage
If the product is operated without oil or with too little oil
or with used oil, this can lead to product damage.
- Do not use used oil!
- Check the oil level before each start-up.
1. Place the product on a level, even surface.
2. Check the oil-level window (9a) to ensure that
there is sufficient oil in the product.
3. If there is no oil visible in the oil-level window (9a),
top up the oil as described in 11.6.2.
11.6 Oil change (Fig. 13)
ATTENTION
Environmental damage!
Spilled oil can pollute the environment permanently.
The liquid is highly toxic and can quickly lead to water
pollution.
- Fill/empty oil only on level, paved surfaces.
- Use a filling nozzle or funnel.
- Collect drained oil in a suitable container.
- Wipe up spilled oil carefully immediately and dis-
pose of the cloth according to local regulations.
- Dispose of oil as per local regulations.
The original oil filling must be changed after 10 oper-
ating hours; afterwards the oil must be drained and
replaced with new oil after every 50 operating hours.
Use DAB 46 oil for this.
NOTE
Use the oil recommended by the manufacturer for your
compressor. The oil should meet the specific require-
ments of the compressor. Incorrect or inferior oil can
increase the risk of fire.
NOTE
Regularly check for leaks in the compressor's oil sys-
tem. Oil leaks can lead to an accumulation of flammable
material and thus increase the risk of an oil fire. Repair
leaks immediately and clean up spilled oil thoroughly.
11.6.1 Draining oil
1. Switch the motor off and unplug the mains plug
from the power outlet.
2. Remove the oil sealing plug (9c).
3. After releasing any air pressure you can unscrew the
oil drain screw (9b) from the compressor pump (9).
4. To prevent the oil from running out in an uncon-
trolled manner, hold a small metal chute under the
opening and collect the oil in a vessel. If the oil
does not drain out completely, we recommend tilt-
ing the compressor slightly.
5. When the oil has drained out, re-fit the oil drain
screw (9b).
11.6.2 Filling in oil
ATTENTION
Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity. Over-
filling the equipment may result in damage.
1. To fill in the correct quantity of oil, make sure that
the compressor stands on an even surface.
2. Fill new oil through the oil filling opening (9e) until
it comes up to the maximum level. This is marked
with a red dot on the oil-level window (9a) (Fig. 13).
3. Reinsert the oil sealing plug (9c) into the oil filling
opening (9e).
12. Storage
m WARNING
Disconnect the mains plug, vent the device and all
connected compressed air tools. Store the com-
pressor in such a way that it cannot be used by un-
authorised persons.
ATTENTION
Store the compressor only in dry locations that are
inaccessible for unauthorised persons. Do not tilt
the unit, only store it upright! Oil may leak out!
