The aerator roller (D) is included in the scope of deliv-
ery. Proceed as follows to change the roller:
• Remove the Allen screws (E) and lift the roller on
this end.
• Pull the roller toward the opposite side out of the
drive square.
• Pull the bearing housing from the roller axle.
• Push the bearing housing onto the axle of the other
roller.
• Guide the roller into the drive square.
• Secure the housing with the Allen screws (E).

10. Operation

10.1 Setting the scarifying depth (Fig. 11)
The scarifying depth is set with the working height ad-
justment (6) on the two front wheels. Four positions are
available.
• Pull the lever of the working height adjustment (6) up
slightly and bring it into the desired position.
• Make sure that the lever engages securely.
10.2 Adjusting the aerator roller depth (Fig. 11)
In order to guarantee faultless operation and avoid
damage to the aerator roller (D), only operate the aera-
tor roller (D) in position "3" or "4".
• Proceed with adjusting the roller depth as described
below .
• Observe the table .

10.4 Starting and stopping the device
• Connect the power connection (3) with an IP44 ex-
tension cable*.
• Observe the information regarding electrical safety
(see „5.3 Elektrische Sicherheit").
* Not included in the scope of delivery!
To prevent the scarifier from being switched on unin-
tentionally, the shift lever (1) is equipped with a safety
switch (2). The shift lever (1) can only be actuated when
the safety switch (2) is actuated. If the shift lever (1) is
released, the scarifier switches off.

• Press the safety switch (2) and the shift lever (1) at
the same time to start the device.
• Release the shift lever (1) to stop the device. The
engine switches off.
• Wait until the roller no longer rotates and has come
to a standstill.
10.5 Information for safe operation
m Danger!
Never open the discharge flap when the motor is still
running. The rotating cutting roller may lead to injuries.
Always carefully secure the discharge flap. It closes
automatically by the tension spring.
The safety distance between the housing and the us-
er created by the push bar (4) must always be main-
tained.
Special care must be taken when scarifying and
changing direction on embankments and slopes.
Make sure you have a secure footing, wear shoes with
non-slip, well gripping soles and long trousers. Always
scarify across slopes. For safety reasons, the scarifier
may not be used on slopes with an inclination of more
than 15 degrees.
Exercise particular caution when moving backwards
and pulling the scarifier (risk of tripping!).
10.6 Advice on how to use the scarifier properly
To achieve a clean result, it is recommended to use an
overlapping working method when using the scarifier.
• Guide the device along a straight path as far as pos-
sible.
• Let these paths overlap a few centimetres so that no
patches remain.
• Empty the catch basket (5) when the scarified grass
cuttings remains on the ground.
• Remove the catch basket (5) from the device. To
do this, lift the discharge flap and remove the catch
basket (5) from the corresponding brackets on the
device. (Fig. 10)
m Danger! Before removing the catch basket (5),
switch off the motor and wait for the roller to come
to a standstill!
Scarifying frequency depends mainly on the grass
growth of the lawn and the hardness of the soil.
• Keep the bottom of the scarifier clean.
• Remove residual soil and grass cuttings regularly.
Deposits impede the start-up process and impair the
scarifying quality.
