The scarifier is suitable for private use around the
home and hobby garden.
A scarifier for private gardens and allotments is con-
sidered to be equipment that, in general, is not used
for more than 10 hours during the year. They are main-
ly used for the upkeep of grass or lawns, but are not
used in public grounds, parks, sports facilities or in
agriculture or forestry.
The observance of the manufacturer's operating in-
structions included is a prerequisite for the proper use
of the scarifier. They also contain the operating, main-
tenance and servicing conditions.
Due to physical hazards to the user, the scarifier may
not be used as a shredder for shredding tree and hedge
cuttings. Furthermore, the scarifier may not be used as
a motorised cultivator or for levelling ground elevations,
such as molehills.
For safety reasons, the scarifier may not be used as a
drive unit for other work tools or tool kits of any kind.
Unless this has been specifically authorised by the
manufacturer.
The device may only be used in the intended manner.
Any use beyond this is improper. The user/operator,
not the manufacturer, is responsible for damages or
injuries of any type resulting from this.

in commercial or industrial applications, or for equiv-
alent work.

5. Safety instructions

5.1 General safety instructions
m Warning: Read the entire manual carefully. Fa-
miliarise yourself with the control and proper use
of the device. Failure to follow the instructions may
result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
The term "power tool" used in the warnings below
describes your device. The device can be either a ca-
ble-operated or a battery-operated (wireless) device.

5.2 Workstation
m Caution: The device can cause serious injuries.
This will prevent accidents and injuries.
Preparation:
• Keep the workplace clean and well-lit. Unorganised
and poorly lit workplaces can cause accidents.
• Do not use your device in the vicinity of explosive
objects such as gases, highly flammable liquids or
dust. Electrical power tools generate sparks that can
ignite such gases or dust.
• Please note that the user of the appliance is respon-
sible for any damage, including personal injury and
damage to property.
• Do not operate the device whilst other persons, in
particular children or animals, are nearby.
• Only use the device during the day, in good lighting
conditions or in good artificial light.
• Pay attention to your footing and balance on slopes.
• Never walk or run when using the appliance.
• Take particular care when changing direction on a
slope.
