12.1 Preparing the device

• Disconnect the device from the power supply.
• Clean all rollers, the housing and catch basket (5)
carefully to remove dirt, moss and grass cuttings.
• Remove moisture with a dry cloth. Never store the
device when it is moist.

12.2 Storage location

• Store the device and its accessories in a ventilated,
dark, dry and frost-free place that is inaccessible to
children.
• Avoid locations with high humidity (e.g. cellars with-
out ventilation) to prevent corrosion and the forma-
tion of mould.
• Store the device out of the reach of children and un-
authorised persons.
• Fold the push bar (4) together to save space if nec-
essary.
• Store the device ideally in its original packaging.
• Cover the device to protect it from dust or moisture.
Store the operating manual with the device.
• The optimum storage temperature is between 5°C
and 30˚C. Store the product in its original packaging.
12.3 Electrical safety
• Check the cable and plug for damage.
• Make sure that the power cable is not kinked or
crushed.
• The cable may not be positioned near hot or sharp-
edged objects.

13. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and
ready for operation. The connection complies with
the applicable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as the
extension cable used must also comply with these
regulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable.
The insulation on electrical connection cables is of-
ten damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Pressure points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors,
• Kinks where the connection cable has been improp-
erly fastened or routed,
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over,
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the wall
socket,

• Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life-threatening due to the insulation
damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage regu-
larly. Ensure that the connection cables are disconnect-
ed from electrical power when checking for damage.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the ap-
plicable VDE and DIN provisions. Only use connection
cables with the designation H05VV-F.
The printing of the type designation on the connection
cable is mandatory.
AC motor
• Ensure that the mains voltage matches with the volt-
age on the product type plate.
• Extension cables up to 25 m long must have a
cross-section of 1.5 mm².
Connections and repair work on the electrical equip-
ment may only be carried out by electricians.
Please provide the following data in the event of any
enquiries:
• Type of current for the motor
• Machine data - type plate
• Motor data - type plate

14. Transport

14.1 Before transport
• Switch the device off and pull out the mains plug.
• Remove loose objects such as the catch basket (5)
or roller (D, D1).
• Clean the device to remove accumulated dirt and
grass cuttings to keep contaminants out of the vehi-
cle or storage area.
• Fold the push bar (4) together to save space if nec-
essary.
14.2 Transport to the workplace
• Used the built-in carriage for transport if possible.
• Never pull the device by the power cable.
• Grasp the device by the housing to lift it and not by
the wheels or other moving parts.
• Have a second person help when it is necessary to
transport the device over uneven ground or on stairs.
• Make sure that no persons are endangered by carry-
ing or moving the device.
