• On slopes, the scarifying path should be across the
slope.
• Switch off the engine before carrying out any checks
on the cutting roller.
m Danger!
The cutting roller continues to rotate for a few sec-
onds after the engine is switched off.
Never try to stop the cutting roller.
• If the moving cutting roller comes into contact with
an object, switch the device off and wait for the cut-
ting roller to stop. Check the condition of the cutting
roller. If damaged, it must be replaced.
• Place the device connection cable in loops on the
ground, directly in front of the utilised socket.
• Scarify away from the socket or cable and make
sure that the device connection cable always lies on
the scarified lawn.
• Never pass over the device connection cable with
the scarifier.

11. Cleaning and maintenance

Tool required:

Before carrying out any repair or maintenance work
on the device, make sure that the cutting roller does
not turn and that the device is disconnected from the
mains.
Allow the device to cool down completely before work-
ing on it.
11.1 Cleaning
• Keep protective devices, air vents and the engine
housing as free of dust and dirt as possible.
• Rub the device clean with a clean cloth or blow it off
with compressed air at low pressure.
• If possible, clean the device immediately after each
use.
• Remove accumulated grass cuttings, soil and moss,
etc. with a soft brush or a damp cloth. Do not use
any cleaning products or solvents; they could attack
the plastic parts of the device.
• Do not use a high-pressure cleaner or flowing water.
There is the risk of a short circuit!
• Make sure that no water can penetrate the interior
of the device. Water penetrating an electric device
increases the risk of an electric shock.
• Allow the device to dry to prevent the formation of
rust.
11.2 Maintenance
• Regularly check the device, and especially the roll-
ers, for wear. Worn or damaged rollers should be
replaced by an authorised specialist.
• Check the electrical cables for cracks and crushing.
Damaged cables must be replaced by an authorized
specialist.
• Carbon brushes: If excessive sparks are formed,
have an electrician check the carbon brushes.
m Danger! The carbon brushes must only be re-
placed by an electrician.
• Make sure that all fastening elements (screws, nuts,
etc.) are firmly tightened.
• All fastening parts as well as the wheels and axles
should be cleaned and then oiled to ensure a long
service life.
• Regular maintenance of the device will not only en-
sure its durability and performance, but will also
facilitate the work with the scarifier and contribute
to a good result.
• Perform a general check of the device at the end
of the season and remove all accumulated debris.
• Check the condition of the device at the beginning
of the season. Contact our customer service cen-
tre for repairs.

wear, or that the following parts are required as con-
sumables.
