9.2 Switching the product on/off

ATTENTION
Before use, check the inserted tool to ensure all fasten-
ing parts are attached correctly.
Note:
Always switch the product on before making contact with
the material and then guide the product to the workpiece.
Switching on
1. To switch on, press the on/off switch (1) to the right
with your thumb and slide it forwards.
Switching on continuous operation
1. To lock the on/off switch (1), let the lock (1a) latch into
the forward position.
CAUTION
Always switch the product off after the work and wait
until the grinding disc has come to a complete standstill
before placing the product down.
Switching off
1. To switch off, release the on/off switch (1) or, if it is
locked, briefly press the on/off switch (1) down at the
back and then release it.
9.2.1 Setting the speed (Fig. 7)
Note:
The speed can also be changed during operation.
You can preselect the speed using the speed control (2a):
1 = lowest speed, e.g. for surface machining: Grind-
ing, polishing
6 = highest speed, e.g. for cut-off grinding
We recommend determining the speed using practical
tests.
The speed that makes sense when working depends on
what tasks you are doing with the product.
When cut-off grinding, the use of a high speed is usually
not a problem. When sanding or polishing the surfaces, a
low speed is better.

WARNING
If the tool attachment is not fitted correctly, this can re-
sult in serious accidents! Before starting work, check
that the tool attachment inserted is firmly seated.
CAUTION
Always switch the product off after the work and wait
until the grinding disc has come to a complete standstill
before placing the product down.

CAUTION
The grinding tool continues to run after it has been
switched off. Do not try to slow it down by pushing
against it laterally.
CAUTION
Keep your hands away from the tool attachment when
the product is in operation.
CAUTION
After switching off, the product will run on. Wait until the
product has come to a complete stop.
ATTENTION
For your own safety, only use accessories and addition-
al equipment that are indicated in the operating manual
or have been recommended or indicated by the manu-
facturer. Use of other tools or accessories that those
recommended in the operating manual or in the cata-
logue could represent a personal danger to you.
ATTENTION
Never operate the product without an insert tool!
Notes:
Grinding bodies may only be used for the recommended
applications. Otherwise, it could break, be damaged or
cause injuries.
Replace the tool attachment immediately if the product
has been dropped whilst you are working. Damaged tool
attachments can break and cause serious injury.
Grinding discs must never be struck or pushed against
the workpiece or the surface being machined. This could
cause the glass to shatter and result in injury.
When working on corners, edges and similar areas, take
particular care to ensure that the tool attachment does not
catch, bounce or get stuck.
This can lead to sudden kickback and loss of control.
Do not use the product with wood saw blades or other
types of saw blades.
Using such tool attachments can cause severe kickback,
loss of control and serious or fatal injury.
