DETAILED SAFETY REGULATIONS
WARNING!
The device has been designed for safe operation. However, installation,
maintenance and operation of the device can be dangerous. Compliance
with the following procedures reduces the risk of fire, electric shock,
personal injury and shortens the installation time of the device.
Detailed safety conditions for the use of ceramic tile cutting saws
• The user and bystanders should keep away from the rotating wheel.
The guard protects the operator from wheel fragments and
accidental contact with the wheel.
• Only use bonded, reinforced or diamond cutting discs with the power
tool. The fact that an accessory can be attached to the power tool
does not guarantee safe operation.
• The rated speed of accessories must be at least equal to the
maximum speed specified on the power tool. Accessories operating
at speeds higher than the rated speed may be damaged and fly off.
• Wheels must only be used for the recommended applications. For
example: do not grind with the side of the cutting disc. Abrasive
cutting discs are designed for peripheral grinding, and lateral forces
exerted on these discs may cause them to break.
• Always use undamaged flanges with a diameter suitable for the
selected disc. Suitable flanges support the disc, reducing the risk of
breakage.
• The outer diameter and thickness of accessories must be within the
rated parameters of the power tool. Accessories with incorrect
dimensions cannot be properly secured or controlled.
• The size of the wheel arbor and flanges must be properly matched
to the spindle of the power tool. Wheels and flanges with arbor holes
that do not fit the mounting components of the power tool will
become unbalanced, vibrate excessively and may cause loss of
control.
• Do not use damaged wheels. Before each use, check the wheels for
chips or cracks. If the power tool or wheel has fallen, check for
damage or install an undamaged wheel. After checking and
installing the wheel, stand with bystanders away from the rotating
wheel and run the power tool at maximum speed without load for
one minute. Damaged wheels usually break during this test.
• Personal protective equipment must be used. Depending on the
application, a face shield, safety goggles or safety glasses must be
worn. If necessary, wear a dust mask, ear protection, gloves and a
workshop apron to protect against small splashes or fragments of
the workpiece. Eye protection must be able to stop fragments
produced during various activities. The dust mask or respirator must
be able to filter particles generated during operation. Prolonged
exposure to high noise levels may cause hearing loss.
• Keep bystanders at a safe distance from the work area. Anyone
entering the work area must wear personal protective equipment.
Debris from the workpiece or a broken wheel may fly off and cause
injury outside the immediate work area.
• Keep the cord away from the rotating accessory. If control is lost,
the cord may be cut or caught, and your hand or arm may be pulled
into the rotating wheel.
• Clean the ventilation openings of the power tool regularly. The motor
fan may draw dust into the housing, and excessive accumulation of
metal dust may cause a risk of electric shock.
• Do not use power tools near flammable materials. Do not use power
tools on flammable surfaces such as wood. Sparks may ignite these
materials.
• Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. The use of water
or other liquid coolants may cause electric shock or electric shock.
KICKBACK AND RELATED WARNINGS
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a jammed or caught rotating wheel.
Jamming or catching causes the rotating wheel to stop suddenly, which in
turn causes the cutting assembly to rise uncontrollably toward the
operator.
For example, if the grinding wheel is caught or pinched by the workpiece,
the edge of the grinding wheel entering the pinch point may dig into the
surface of the material, causing the grinding wheel to jump or be thrown
out. Under such conditions, grinding wheels may also break.

Kickback is the result of improper use of the power tool and/or incorrect
operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking the
precautions listed below.
• Hold the power tool firmly and position your body and arm so that
you can resist the kickback force. The operator can control the
upward kickback force if appropriate precautions are taken.
• Do not position your body in line with the rotating wheel. In the event
of kickback, the cutting wheel will be thrown upwards towards the
operator.
• Do not install a cutting chain, wood carving blade, segmented
diamond blade with a circumferential gap greater than 10 mm, or a
toothed cutting blade. These types of blades cause frequent
kickback and loss of control.
• Do not "lock" the blade or apply excessive pressure. Do not attempt
to make cuts that are too deep. Excessive load on the blade
increases its load and susceptibility to twisting or jamming during
cutting, as well as the risk of the blade rebounding or breaking.
• If the blade becomes jammed or the cut is interrupted for any reason,
switch off the power tool and keep the cutting assembly stationary
until the blade has come to a complete standstill. Never attempt to
remove the blade from the cutting area while it is moving, as this
may cause kickback. Investigate the cause of the blade jamming
and take corrective action to remove it.
• Do not resume cutting in the workpiece. Wait until the blade has
reached full speed and then carefully resume cutting. If you resume
cutting in the workpiece, the blade may jam, shift or kick back.
• Support any oversized workpieces to minimise the risk of wheel
jamming and kickback. Large workpieces tend to bend under their
own weight. Supports should be placed under the workpiece near
the cutting line and near the edges of the workpiece on both sides
of the blade.
