02 Installation conditions

When using RAUSIKKO Boxes for percolation or as a reservoir system which is
accessible to vehicles, a minimum covering of 0.80 m and a maximum installation
depth according to the following diagram be observed.
The height of the gravel trench or reservoir system should not exceed 2.7 m.
The ground underneath the Boxes must have sufficient load bearing capacity.
(Compressive strength). If necessary, measures for increasing the load bearing
capacity are to be taken accordingly.
The systems should not be installed in permanent or occasionally occurring ground,
stratum or impounded water. In the case of percolation systems the relevant recom-
mendations of work sheet DWA-A 138-1 have to be considered. According to this, the
distance from the highest average groundwater level should generally be at least 1.0 m.
Under the conditions described above and considering the following specifications
for installation, the ground surface above and on the side of the boxes should be
loaded with a maximum traffic load in line with SLW 60 according to DIN 1072
(heavy goods vehicle with a total weight of 60 t and a wheel load of 100 kN or an
area load of 33.3 kN/m²).
These conditions have to be observed throughout the entire construction period.
The construction site have to be organized accordingly. In particular, it is to be
ensured that no cranes, silos, containers, construction or excavated materials, which
could lead to a larger single or surface load than described above, are placed above
the percolation or reservoir system.
Installation conditions which deviate from this – in particular deeper installation
depths – require an individual assessment and are to be clarified with the REHAU
technical applications department.
