Its design meets European and national electromagnetic com-
patibility requirements. It conforms with European Standard
ETS 300 220 or EN 300 220-1 and bears a German conformity
symbol as well as the CE mark. Its use is permitted in many
European countries but users are advised to find out about lo-
cally applicable regulations before they begin their journey (see
page 61). The device has obtained a certificate of conformity
and the manufacturer has submitted the appropriate declarati-
ons and documents. The device does not need to be registered
and there are no call charges.
Approval Notice
No structural modifications may be made to the device, i.e. its inte-
gral rubber antenna must be used. Measures to increase its trans-
mission power are also prohibited. Doing so will render the device's
Approval and general operating license invalid. In addition, modifi-
cations will damage electronic components. Under no circum-
stances should the factory settings inside the device be altered.
