Fixing the rope

Find a suitable attachment such as a strong tree trunk or rock.
Note that your winch has a huge traction force.
Always use a noose as an attachment point.
WARNING do not attach the load hook back to the rope, as this
could damage the rope. This is shown in figure 1.
WARNING do not use the winch at an acute angle, as this stacks the
rope on one side of the drum, which could damage the rope and
winch. This is shown in figure 2.
Short pulls can be used at an angle to align the vehicle straight.
Long pulls should be carried out with the rope at a 90 degree angle
to the winch / vehicle.
Applies mandatory for steel cables: If you pull a heavy load, place
a blanket or impact protection mat over the rope about one to two
feet from the hook. If the rope breaks, the snap is dampened.
For additional protection, you can open the bonnet of the vehicle.
As shown in figure 3.
For pulls over 70% nominal pull force, we recommend using a pulley
to halve the required effort. See figure 4.
WARNING – Never use your winch to lift up items and people.
