Winch rope 101
Synthetic rope:
Visual inspection before and after each winch operation
■
When the winch is overly hot, roll off the rope and allow the winch
■
to cool down
Only use suitable pulleys
■
Avoid pulling the rope over sharp edges
■
Use heat protection on the lowest rope layer
■
Protect the rope in the splicing area (on the hook side) with a shrink

hose or protective cover
Do not use the rope to make constrictor knots
■
Splice or replace defect ropes
■
Care of synthetic ropes:
Impregnate the ropes every 2 months or every 30 winch operations,
■
whichever comes first. Products can be found in the range of specialist
retailers or you can use the Lubi-Fill waterproofing spray. As a result,
no dust particles or water occur, UV resistance and lubrication are also
improved. If possible, keep the rope in the vehicle to protect it from
unnecessary pollution and UV light
Do not wash synthetic ropes in the washing machine or spray with the
■
pressure cleaner
Wash dirty ropes with a mild soap liquor by hand
