Handling of the gearbox
!
Never loosen the clutch when there is a load on the winch.
!
If the gearbox makes loud noises, it may be that there is too little
grease in the gearbox. In this case bring the winch to the service.
!
The clutch must be properly locked before the winch process.
Otherwise you will damage the gearbox.
General handling
!
Use chocks for the vehicle's wheels when you're at a tilt.
!
The user of the winch must ensure that the vehicle is secured.
It must be ensured in all circumstances that the vehicle
can be immediately slowed down in the event of unforeseeable
occurrences (e.g. rope break of the winch).
!
Operate the winch at least 10 x a year so the winches remain
functional (approx.2-5 m winding down and winding up without load).
!
Roping under load must be avoided in all circumstances. It works
against the brake, the effect is like moving a car with a handbrake
put on. The drum brake of the winch automatically brakes when
you drain the load. That will cause damages on your winch.
When operating with synthetic ropes, these can take damage and tear.
It's forbidden to rope down under load when the winch has a
transmission brake.
!
The winching operation should be kept as short as possible.
!
Never cut, weld or modify any parts of the winches or rope.
!
A minimum of five winch rows on the drum is necessary to pull and
maintain the nominal load.
!
Do not move the vehicle to pull (tow) a load on the winch rope.
This could cause the rope to snap and damage the winch.

Subject to technical changes
!
Avoid 'shock loads' by gradually using the control switch to avoid
slack rope. The rope should always be under tension. 'Shock loads'
can far exceed the nominal capacity for the rope and drum.
!
Do not exceed the maximum traction given on the description.
!
In frequent water crossings, the service interval becomes shorter.
Consume with your specialist workshop.
!
Only use original horntools spare and wear parts.
!
Never use the winch if you're not sure it works correctly.
!
A winch must be installed by a specialist company, if not installed
properly, the winch can be damaged and there is a risk for body
and life.
!
If the winch is extremely heated, avoid a water passage, this can
damage your winch, let the winch cool down before.
!
Only use the winch periodically. Allow the winches to cool
between applications. Start the next winching operation if the winch
is maximum hand warm (about 30-40 degrees Celsius).
