DC 11-Module, DC 11-Module XL

Functional description

Usage

The DC 11-Module is a compact extraction system designed for the extraction of dust and chips and cleaning. The
extraction system consists of a filter unit, vacuum generator and control panel and (in some variants) mounted on
a common chassis. The extraction system can be mounted to a fixed ducting system or used as mobile equipment.
If the system will be used as mobile equipment, it must be equipped with a Europlug (3-phase according to
SS-EN60309). The suction system can be moved with a forklift or pallet truck. Alternatively, the system can be
equipped with wheels.

Optional

The DC 11 module can be adapted for several uses through the various options. The machine can be connected to
various vacuum generators with power ratings between 5.5 - 18.5kW. It can be equipped with or without a control
panel and frequency converter (VFD). Several different collection options are available for the separated material,
as well as either automatic or manual filter cleaning. The machine can also be equipped with or without a HEPA
filter. Use the item number for the system and refer to the table on the next page to determine which accessories
are included with your unit (applies to DC 11 module, not XL)

Vacuum generator/producer

The vacuum generator is a belt-driven (DC 11-module XL) / direct-driven (DC 11-module) turbopump. It is very
durable and requires minimal maintenance. The characteristics of this type of vacuum generator make it ideal for
use with a VFD unit (variable frequency drive). With the VFD option, performance is optimized.

Filter unit

The filter cyclone cleans the air effectively. Dusty air is sucked into the machine's cyclone where it is vigorously
circulated. The dust, which is heavier than air, is forced out against the walls of the cyclone by centrifugal force and
falls towards the bottom of the cyclone, where it is ejected. The air is sucked in towards the center of the cyclone
and then through a fine filter. The machine can also be equipped with an optional HEPA filter. The dust that is
sucked up is ejected into a plastic bag or container. The filter is cleaned by blasting a pulse of compressed air.

HEPA filter (Optional)

The fine filter separates a large proportion of the fine dust but has a limited capacity to separate the smallest
particles. To capture these particles, the unit should be equipped with a HEPA filter. We always recommend using a
HEPA filter when system air is recirculated in the facility. If special or hazardous dust is generated, we recommend
using a HEPA filter even if the system air is vented out of the facility. (Note: Always be aware of and follow local
regulations).

Control panel (on some models)

The electrical equipment is built into the machine. The unit can be started manually using a start button, automat-
ically when one of the extraction points is opened and microswitch is activated or by timer control. The filter is
automatically cleaned after vacuum shutdown. With the Flow Detection Control option, the system offers demand-
based control that saves energy. And if you choose the VFD (variable frequency drive - frequency converter)
option, you have even more control over the energy flow. You can also choose whether the device is permanently
installed or mobile and whether it comes with a Euro connector.

Discharge of materials

Dust and heavy material is discharged under the cyclone. A number of different options can be chosen. The most
common solutions are plastic bags or containers. Containers are available in a variety of sizes.

Mobile unit

The DC 11-Module/DC 11-Module XL is designed with a palletized chassis so that it can be easily moved with a
forklift or pallet truck. When the unit is equipped with wheels and handles, it becomes a mobile unit that can easily
be moved manually on the factory floor, despite its size and weight. It is also possible to create a semi-mobile unit
where the unit is configured as a portable unit but docked to an installed ducting system. When the unit is needed
in another location, disconnect it from the dock and roll it away.
