Trial run
The unit is normally adjusted to nominal pressure. The pressure can be changed by adjusting the vacuum valve.
Note, however, that it must not exceed the maximum pressure for the specific unit.
1.
Ensure that the isolating/main switch is switched off and locked.
2.
Check that the pump can be started without any inconvenience and that all outlets in the system are closed.
3.
Connect a pressure gauge calibrated to at least 50 kPa to the suction side as close to the pump as possible.
4.
Turn on the isolating switch. Start the pump and listen for any unusual noise. You should hear a high tone from
the impellers. Check the direction of rotation of the pump.
5.
Check the functioning of the suction system.
6.
Measure the pressure on the suction side. Compare with the pressure the installation is designed for. The
pressure can be adjusted by adjusting the vacuum valve. Check the functioning of the suction system. It is
completely normal for the pump outlet to become very hot after a few hours of operation.
7.
Test the filter cleaning function. When the filters are cleaned, a number of clearly audible air pulses will be
heard at intervals of about seconds.
