10 Changing air filters
Safety
CAUTION Air filter: Using the unit in
areas without appropriate air filters can cause
serious damage to health. Breathing diffi-
culties, infections, risk of suffocation, eye in-
juries due to smoke, vapours, fibres, con-
struction foam, mould, particles from outside.
• Operation of the ventilation unit in areas with
the aforementioned substances is not permitted.
• Switch off the ventilation unit, especially in dan-
gerous situations (fire).
• Never block the air supply.
• The air filters are housed in the slide-in module.
Only use authorised original air filters.
• Dispose of the filters properly as they may con-
tain harmful substances and allergens. Wear per-
sonal protective equipment (mask).
DANGER due to electric shock
Observe the safety rules of electrical engineering.
Before removing covers and installing the elec-
trics, switch off all supply circuits and secure
them against being accidentally switched back on
again.
CAUTION Cuts due to sharp edges on
sheet metal or housing cut-outs or on the
slide-in module.
Wear protective gloves. Do not damage connec-
tion cables.
10.1 Changing the RV 2 air filter
ATTENTION: Observe the safety instructions for
air filters [} 28].
The air filter change is shown below using
the RV 2 parapet variant as an example. Pro-
ceed in the same way for the RV 2 soffit vari-
ants.

1. Switch off the mains fuse and secure it against
being switched on again.
2. Carefully remove the internal cover.
3. Remove the internal filter frame: Press the re-
taining lugs together at the top and bottom and
remove the frame.
4. Remove the air filter from the filter frame.
5. Disconnect the connector plug.
6. Reach into the mounting sleeve and carefully
pull out the slide-in module on the retaining
strap. CAUTION: The slide-in module is diffi-
cult to pull out. Make sure that your footing is
secure. Do not damage the slide-in module,
connection cable and connector plug.

7. Turn the slide-in module 180° and remove the
external filter. To do this, release the 4 retain-
ing brackets on the slide-in module and swivel
away.

8. Replace the ISO coarse 30% (G2) air filter
with a new filter. Only use original air filters.
