12 Installation of the parapet wall for RV 2 VH
• Set corner rails inside and outside.
When setting the corner rails, always pay atten-
tion to the height of the plaster frames.
The plaster frame and rail must be aligned.
• Make sure that the plaster does not break off
when removing the plaster protection.
• Observe the dimensions of the internal and ex-
ternal covers. Close minor unevenness with ac-
rylic.
• When plastering do not use adhesive tape
between the plaster frame and the plaster, as
this will cause the plaster to separate from the
plaster frame. When removing the plaster pro-
tection, there is a risk of the plaster breaking off
unintentionally.
12 Installation of the parapet wall
for RV 2 VH
RV 2 VH mounting sleeves are approved for
parapet installation.
Observe the horizontal installation position.
Align the mounting sleeve precisely with a
spirit level.
12.1 Installation instructions
ATTENTION: Damage to buildings and units if
condensation or driving rain runs inwards into
the mounting sleeve or into the masonry due
to an incorrectly installed and aligned mount-
ing sleeve.
The mounting sleeve may only be installed by
qualified personnel in accordance with the applic-
able standards and building regulations. Observe
the accident prevention regulations and occupa-
tional health and safety measures (intact protect-
ive clothing, secure footing etc.).
DANGER due to electric shock if the
mounting sleeve is installed incorrectly. Wa-
ter and moisture inside the mounting sleeve
can cause a short circuit and damage the
mounting sleeve when the slide-in module is
used. Align and seal the mounting sleeve cor-
rectly during installation. Install the window
sill plate with at least 40 mm of projecting
length in accordance with the planning docu-
ments.
Layer height under the mounting sleeve de-
pends on the planned parapet height.

12.2 Preparing parapet installation
1. Wall up the parapet.
2. Lay empty ducts/cabling to the installation loc-
ation of the mounting sleeve. For information
on cabling, see chapter Cable laying, empty
ducts, flush-mounted boxes [} 28].
3. Measure the wall thickness (take into account
the insulation of the masonry, plaster thick-
ness inside and plaster thickness outside).
4. Unpack the pre-installation kit on site.
12.3 Fitting the mounting sleeve into
the masonry
1. Position the mounting sleeve in the masonry,
check dimensions.
2. If necessary, cut the mounting sleeve to size
using a band saw.
Installation instructions
• Adjust the inner plaster frame to the actual ma-
sonry thickness.
• Screws of the inner plaster frame for aligning
and fixing (not for fastening). Do not overtighten
the screws, otherwise they will break out of the
EPS mounting sleeve. Alternatively, use a one-
component mounting adhesive for fixing.
• Maintain an average plaster thickness of 15 mm
on the inside and 20 mm on the outside (=
frame projection).
• Internal plaster frame with extended insertion.
On the inner wall side up to 15 mm can be lev-
elled out. The frames of the external grilles offer
a further, minimal levelling option (see instruc-
tions for final installation kit).
12.4 Gluing the mounting sleeve to
the masonry
Maintain minimum distances to other
façades and shell components. Observe the di-
mensions and position of the internal and ex-
ternal plaster frames.
1. Apply mounting adhesive to the brick row and
mounting sleeve.
