Mowing high grass
Mow with a higher cutting height adjustment
when the grass is longer than normal or when it
is wet. Then re-mow the grass with a lower, nor-
mal setting.
7.3
Mulching
For optimum mulching results, the grass should
be mowed on a regular basis (approx. 1 or 2
times per week). Cut 1/3 of the grass height (e.g.
if grass height is 6 cm, mow 2 cm). This will en-
sure that the mown grass will be properly inter-
mixed in the remaining grass.
8 MAINTENANCE AND CARE
DANGER! Risk of injury or death due to
improper maintenance. Maintenance work car-
ried out by unqualified persons and the use of
non-approved spare parts, as well as removing or
modifying safety devices can result in serious in-
juries and even death during operation of the ap-
pliance.
■
Do not remove or deactivate any safety in-
stallations.
■
Use only approved OEM spare parts.
■
Ensure through regular and proper mainte-
nance that the appliance is in a clean and
functional condition at all times.
WARNING! Danger of cuts and lacera-
tions. Danger of cuts and lacerations when
reaching into sharp-edged, moving device parts
and into cutting tools.
■
Always switch off the device before starting
maintenance, care and cleaning work. Re-
move the safety key and the batteries!
■
Always wear protective gloves during mainte-
nance, care and cleaning work.
WARNING! Risk of injury during mainte-
nance work. Improper maintenance can result in
serious injury and damage to the appliance.
■
Have repairs to the appliance carried out only
by qualified companies.
8.1
Cleaning the ride-on mower
The ride-on mower must be cleaned regularly to
ensure optimum function and a long service life.
Clean the ride-on mower to remove any soiling
after each use. This reduces the risk of fire at hot
parts and live parts of the device.

IMPORTANT! Damage to the electrical sys-
tem and the mechanical components due to
water penetration! Water in the electrical system
results in short circuits and damage. Water in the
bearing points can lead to loss of lubrication, and
thus cause irreparable damage to the bearings.
■
Preferably use compressed air and a brush
for cleaning!
■
Do not use water or a high-pressure cleaner
to spray the engine or any of the bearing
points (wheels, transmission, blade bearing).
■
Use a cloth, hand brush, long-stemmed brush
or similar to remove dirt and grass residues.
8.1.1
Removing and emptying the grass
catcher
Empty the grass catcher before cleaning. A full
grass catcher is too heavy to be removed safely.
1. Remove the grass catcher.
2. Shake the grass catcher to remove any loose
cuttings.
3. Use a water hose to clean the inside and out-
side of the grass catcher to remove any cut-
tings that may be stuck to it.
4. Carefully scrape off any firmly adhering dirt,
e.g. with a brush.
Note: Take particular care not to damage the
fabric on grass catchers with a fabric covering.
5. Hook in the grass catcher again.
8.1.2

5. Clean the inside of the mower deck e.g. with
a brush. Warning! Wear protective gloves to
avoid the risk of cutting injuries on the cutting
blades.
6. Place the ride-on mower on its wheels again.
7. Hook in the grass catcher again.
