Start-up

Do not cover the charging unit during the
charging process.
Before connecting the charging unit, make
sure that the mains voltage matches the volt-
age stated in the "Technical data".
Only use the mains cable for connecting the
charging unit, not for any other purpose. Do
not carry the charging unit by the mains cable
and do not remove the power plug from the
power outlet by pulling on the mains cable.
Protect the mains cable from heat, oil and
sharp edges to prevent it being damaged.
Do not open the charging unit. There is a
danger of electric shock and short-circuit.
For your own safety, only have the charging
unit repaired by qualified specialist personnel
using genuine spare parts.
Dry the unused charging unit and store in a
closed place. Unauthorised persons and chil-
dren must not have access to the charging
unit.
5 START-UP
DANGER! Risk of electric shock. Defec-
tive electrical equipment and incorrect handling
can cause serious or even fatal injury due to
electric shock. Moisture and electricity do not go
well together.
It is essential to heed the behavioural rules
given below.
Keep your hands dry when handling and con-
necting the electric cables.
Never connect an electric cable or socket in a
damp environment (e.g. near puddles of wa-
ter or in damp rooms).
In damp environments, use an extension lead
with integrated waterproof and type-tested
sockets.
The installation of a charging socket on a
building power supply network must be car-
ried out by a qualified electrician. The
charging socket must be protected by a re-
sidual current circuit breaker.

Inserting and removing the batteries (07
– 09)
The batteries can be inserted into any battery
compartment (09/1 – 09/6). The occupied battery
compartments are signalled by the status indica-
tor (09/7) on the display.

A maximum of 3 AL-KO batteries with any capac-
ity from the 36 V system can be inserted under
each battery flap (left and right) so that the oper-
ating range of the ride-on mower can be adapted
to the area to be mowed.
NOTE A minimum of 3 batteries are required
for driving and mowing.
Inserting the batteries (07)
1. Open (07/a) battery flap (07/1).
2. Insert the battery (07/2) and allow it to en-
gage (07/b).
3. Close the battery flap.
Removing the batteries (08)
1. Open (08/a) battery flap (08/1).
2. Press and hold release button (08/2) on the
battery (08/3) (08/b).
3. Pull out the battery (08/c).
4. Close the battery flap.

Charging the batteries (10, 11)

To avoid interruptions in the power supply during
charging:
Check that the capacity of the power supply
is sufficient. Connect the machine to a socket
that can supply sufficient current.
Avoid using other electrical devices at the
same time during charging.
IMPORTANT! Danger of short circuit! A
short-circuit in an open charging plug can lead to
a fire.
Please follow the procedure described here
to start and stop the charging process.
All the batteries installed in the ride-on mower
can be charged in a single charging process us-
ing the charger included in the scope of supply.
Each battery can also be charged individually
outside the ride-on mower using an existing AL-
KO 36V charger.
Other chargers must not be used to avoid dam-
aging the batteries.
Fully charge the batteries prior to initial use. The
batteries can be charged in any charge state.
Charge status indicator on the display
The charge status indicator (02/14) on the display
shows the average charge status of the installed
batteries. Check the battery charge status each
time before using the ride-on mower.
