Mowing backwards
WARNING! There is an accident risk
when reverse mowing! Risk of collision with
persons and objects behind the ride-on mower.
Serious injuries are possible.

Pay attention to the area behind you when
mowing in reverse.
■
Only mow in reverse when it is necessary to
do so.
Preconditions: The ride-on mower is switched on.
Switching on reverse mowing
1. Release the forward pedal (03/1) and wait for
the ride-on mower to come to a standstill.
2. Set the cutting height (see chapter 6.3 "Set-
ting the cutting height", page 54).
3. Pull mower mechanism switch (05/1) up to
switch on the mower mechanism.
4. Press the "Reverse mowing" button.
5. Slowly press reverse pedal (03/2) down until
the desired ground travel speed is reached.
Pay attention to the area behind you.
Switching off reverse mowing

When you want to drive forwards again:
■
Release the reverse pedal.
■
Press the forwards pedal.
OR:
■
To continue reversing with the mower mech-
anism switched off: Push down mower mech-
anism switch (05/1).

Emptying the grass catcher
The ride-on mower is equipped with a manually
operated grass catcher with telescopic lever.
■
The grass catcher is emptied from the opera-
tor's seat.
■
If the grass catcher is folded up or unhooked
when the mower mechanism is switched on,
the mower mechanism is automatically
switched off.
■
When the grass catcher is full, an audible sig-
nal sounds and the 'Grass catcher' status in-
dicator lights up. The grass catcher must be
emptied now at the latest.
■
If the grass catcher gets too full, the dis-
charge channel will clog. Empty the grass
catcher in good time.
1. Switch off the mower mechanism.

2. Drive the ride-on mower to the collection
point for the grass cutting and stop.
3. Empty the grass catcher:
■
Pull telescopic lever (16/1) out of the
grass catcher (16/a).
■
Push telescopic lever (17/1) forwards to
open the grass catcher (17/b). The cut-
tings fall out.
■
Allow the telescopic lever and grass
catcher box to drop back until the grass
catcher engages.
■
Push the telescopic lever together.
The mower mechanism cannot be switched on
again unless the grass catcher is engaged cor-
rectly.
6.5
Switching the headlights on and off
1. Press "Headlight" button (02/3) to switch on
the headlights (01/21).
2. Press the button again to switch the head-
lights off.

Parking the ride-on mower and
engaging the parking brake
1. Switch off the mower mechanism.
2. Set the cutting height to the highest level.
3. Release the drive pedal and wait for the ride-
on mower to come to a standstill.
4. Engage the parking brake:
■
Push the brake pedal (04/1) as far as it
will go and hold it there.
■
Push switch (04/2) for the parking brake
upwards.
■
Release the brake pedal.
5. Switch off the ride-on mower.
6. Remove the safety key.
Warning! Always remove the safety key
when you park the ride-on mower. This pre-
vents use by unauthorised persons and
avoids serious injuries.
7 WORKING BEHAVIOUR AND
WORKING TECHNIQUE
7.1
Mowing interval
Please take into account that grass grows differ-
ently at different times. We recommend using a
shorter interval between mowing during early
spring. You can increase the mowing intervals as
the growth rate of the grass begins to decline
during the course of the year.
