60% ≤ L < 80%
40% ≤ L < 60%
20% ≤ L < 40%
10% ≤ L < 20%
If a battery is completely discharged, the charge
status indicator will not light up during charging
until the minimum average charge status of all
the batteries has been reached again.
Starting the charging process
1. Drive the ride-on mower close to the mains
socket and stop.
2. Remove the safety key.
3. Open (10/a) the cover (10/1) of the charging
socket.
4. Insert (11/ a) the charging plug (11/1) into the
charging socket.
5. Insert the mains plug of the charger into the
power socket. The charging process begins.
ð The charge status indicator (02/14) shows
the average of the achieved battery charge
statuses. Battery charge statuses not yet
reached flash.
ð The ride-on mower will not work during
charging, even if the safety key is inserted.
Do not carry out any cleaning or maintenance
work during charging.
Ending the charging process
1. Remove the mains plug of the charger from
the power socket.
2. Open the cover of the charging socket.
3. Remove the charging plug.
NOTE After charging, you can remove indi-
vidual batteries from the ride-on mower for use in
hand-held tools (e.g. lawn trimmer, hedge trim-
mer). However, at least 3 batteries must remain
in the ride-on mower for driving and mowing.

Charging the battery outside the ride-on
mower
1. Pull out the battery (see chapter 5.1 "Insert-
ing and removing the batteries (07 – 09)",
page 51).
2. Charge the battery using the AL-KO 36V
charger.
3. Insert the battery again.
5.3
Checking the tyre pressure (12)
The correct tyre pressure is an important precon-
dition for a level mower mechanism, and hence
for a uniformly mown lawn. The correct tyre pres-
sure can be found in the Technical Data.
Check the tyre pressure before each use of the
ride-on mower.
1. Unscrew the protective cap.
2. Connect a pressure gauge.
3. If the tyre pressure is too low: Inflate the tyres
to the correct value using a suitable air pump.
4. Screw on the protective cap again.
NOTE 1 PSI = 0.07 bar.

Hooking in and removing the grass

catcher (14, 15)

Hooking in the grass catcher
1. Hook the grass catcher into the two hooks
(14/1, 14/2) on the ride-on mower in a tilted
position (15/a). Hold the grass catcher by the
front carry handle (15/1) and the rear carry
handle (15/2).
Note: The grass catcher must be hung in
symmetrically.
2. Tilt the grass catcher downwards (15/b) until
it rests on the ride-on mower and engages
(15/c).
3. Check that the grass catcher is correctly
seated: The grass catcher must be hooked in
straight and the contact switch of the grass
catcher (15/3) must be actuated.
Removing the grass catcher
Remove the grass catcher in the reverse order.
5.5

Function checks before each use

Carry out the function checks included in the
maintenance plan before each use: see see
chapter 8.4 "Regular maintenance work (mainte-
nance schedule)", page 57.
