14 Standards and legal regulations
Standards and legal regulations are uses in their most current amended version
The following standards and legal regulations must be observed depending on the intended use:
● General administrative framework regulation on minimum requirements for the discharge of waste
water into bodies of water ("Rahmen-AbwasserVwV") appendix 31 – water treatment, cooling sys-
tems, steam generation
● German act for promoting closed substance cycle waste management and ensuring environmentally
compatible waste disposal ("Kreislaufwirtschafts- und Abfallgesetz")
● Law on the management of water resources ("Wasserhaushaltsgesetz")
● German ordinance on the quality of water for human consumption ("Trinkwasserverordnung")
● EN 806, Specifications for drinking water installations
● DIN 1988 standards, specifications for drinking water installations
● DIN EN 1717, protection of drinking water from contaminants in the drinking water supply system
The unit conforms to:
● DIN EN 14743, water conditioning systems inside buildings – softeners
● DIN 19636-100 softeners (cationic exchange) for drinking water installations – part 100: requirements
for application of softeners in accordance with DIN EN 14743.
