• Always carry the device with two
hands: one hand on the handle (1)
and the other hand on the auxiliary
handle (15).
Cleaning,
maintenance and
storage
WARNING! Risk of injury due to
unintentional start-up. Protect your-
self when performing maintenance or
cleaning work. Switch off the device
and remove the battery (17).
You should have any repair and main-
tenance work that is not described in
these instructions carried out by our
Service Centre. Only use original re-
placement parts.
Cleaning
WARNING! Electric shock! Never
spray down the device with water.
NOTICE! Risk of damage. Chemic-
al substances may attack the plastic
parts of the machine. Do not use any
cleaning agents or solvents.
• Keep the ventilation slits, motor
housing and handles of the ma-
chine clean. Use a damp cloth or
brush to do this.
WARNING! Risk of injury from
dangerous, moving parts! Be careful
with the line cutter. It can cause seri-
ous lacerations.
• After each use, remove all grass
and dirt from the protective cover
and the cutting unit.
Maintenance
Replacing the spool (Fig. D)
The correct winding direction of the
spool (11) is specified in the spool

cap (12) and on the spool. The arrows
on the spool cover (23) indicate the
direction of rotation of the motor.
Procedure
1. Remove the battery (17) from the
device.
2. the spool cap (12) by simultan-
eously pressing the two releases
(24) on the spool cap.
3. Remove the spool cover (23) and
take out the old spool (11).
4. Press the line end of the new
spool out of the spool slot (26).
5. Insert the new spool (11) into the
spool cap (12). The side of the
spool, on which the rotation direc-
tion is indicated by arrows, must
be visible after insertion.
6. Insert the line end through the line
outlet loop opposite each other
(10).
7. Put the spool cover (23) back on
the spool cap (12). Make sure that
the releases (24) on the cover fit
precisely into the recesses on the
spool cap. You will hear them snap
into place.
8. Pull on the line end and press on
the locking button (25) repeatedly
until the line ends protrude about
1 cm beyond the line cutter (27).
9. Check the line cutter.
Never use the device without a line
cutter or with a defective line cutter.
Contact the service centre if the line
cutter is damaged.
Winding up spare line
1. Thread an end of the spare line
through the opening of the spool
(11).
2. Wind the line in the winding direc-
tion of the spool. Pay attention to
the arrows on the top of the spool
(11).
