Milling
 WARNING! Risk of injury! Always
mill in the opposite direction (a). in the
process, the device is moved counter
to the rotation direction of the cutter.
Pay attention to the direction of rota-
tion arrow (13) on the device.
 WARNING! Risk of injury! Never
mill in the rotation direction (syn-
chronous operation (b)). The device
can be snatched out of your hand.
(a)
General Information
• Use only the cutter that has a spe-
cified permissible rotation speed,
which is at least as high as the
maximum rotation speed specified
on the device.
• Always use the proper tools.
• Do not use any blunt or damaged
tools or accessories.
• Be aware that the cutter will pro-
trude from the bottom of the base-
plate. Ensure you do not damage
your workpiece or other objects as
a result.
Procedure (Fig. G)
1. Fasten the workpiece securely on
the work surface.
2. Insert the cutter.
3. Set the desired milling depth.
4. Switch on the device.
5. Move the device to the area you
wish to work on.
6. Hold the device tightly with both
hands while working. While do-
ing so, ensure none of your fingers
(b)
protrude into the area beneath the
drive unit and mill with a consist-
ent feed motion (Fig. G) .
7. Turn off the device.
 WARNING! Risk of injury! After
the device has been switched off,
the cutter continues moving for some
time. Do not touch the moving cut-
ter and do not put the device down
before the cutter has come to a com-
plete standstill.
Edge and profile cutting
The cutter must be equipped
with a stop ring (a) as guide
when edge or profile cutting
without parallel guide.
a
Procedure
1. Move the turned on device to the
workpiece until it sits on the stop
ring on the workpiece edge to be
processed.
2. Move the device with both hands
along the workpiece edge. Avoid
excessive pressure.
Milling with parallel guide
You can mill grooves and profiles with
the parallel stop by moving the paral-
lel guide along the workpiece edge at
a preset distance.
NOTICE! Solid materials can only be
milled in small steps (max. 1-2 mm
cutting depth). Deeper grooves must
be milled in several steps.
Procedure
1. Fitting the parallel guide (Fig. D),
p. 30
2. Setting the milling depth, p. 30
3. Make sure that the parallel guide
(20) lies against the workpiece
edge correctly.
4. Switching on, p. 32
