When washing, the cutting-means assembly should be lowered right
down. Now remove the grass catcher, empty and rinse it, then place
it where it can dry quickly.
REMOVING THE BELT GUARD AND CLEANING THE CUTTING-
MEANS ASSEMBLY
WARNING!
Do not let debris and dried grass accumulate
in the upper part of the cutting-means assembly in order to
maintain maximum machine efficiency and safety levels.
This operation must be performed 23 times and before stor-
ing the machine away for a long period of time (by way of
example only, at the end of the season).
WARNING!
Your machine is fitted with a transmission
belt guard to provide you with extra protection.
WARNING!
Wear thick gloves and perform this operation
when the engine is cold.
1. Lift the cover, as indicated in
Chapter 6 of the Owner Man-
ual.
2. Disassemble the discharge
chute (1) by removing the two
split pins (2) and sliding out the
pin (3);
The guard (4) is fixed;
– on the left, by two nuts (5) which
can be unscrewed using a 10
mm key;
– on the right, by a stop clip (6)
To disassemble the guard and clean the cutting-means assembly:
– bring the cutting-means assembly to position 1 (completely low
position);
– use a 10 mm key to loosen the nuts (5), push the clip (6) and disas-
semble the guard (4) from the left side.
– use a jet of compressed air to remove any debris and dirt from the
upper section of the cutting-means assembly.
When repositioning the guard, make sure the nuts (5) are tightened
correctly and the stop clip (6) is securely in place.
WARNING!
The machine must never be used when the
guard is not fitted correctly. Always replace damaged

If the machine is likely to be unused for a long period (more than 1
month). Lubricate all joints as directed in chapter 6.
WARNING!
Carefully remove any dry grass cuttings
which may have been accumulated around the engine or
silencer to prevent them from catching fire the next time the
machine is used! Make sure the engine is cold before star-
ting any maintenance work.
Before storing the unit for an ex-
tended period:
1. Be sure the storage area is free
of excessive humidity and dust.
2. Drain the fuel tank and carbure-
tor into a suitable gasoline con-
tainer.
– Remove the fuel tube (1) and
drain the fuel tank.
– Loosen the carburetor drain
screw (2) to drain the carbu-
retor.
– Retighten the drain screw (2),

containers specifically designed for this purpose. Replace
caps of all fuel tanks and containers securely.
IMPORTANT
The battery must be kept in a cool and dry place.
Before a long storage period (more than 1 month), always charge
the battery. Recharge the battery before the next usage (chapter
6).
The next time the machine is used, check that there are no fuel leaks
from the tubes, fuel cock or carburettor.
