13.3 Pump out petrol with a petrol extraction
pump
The petrol must be drained in the event of storage
over a longer period of time or for transport.
1.
Hold a collection bucket under the hose of the
petrol extraction pump (not included in the
scope of delivery).
2.
Unscrew and remove the fuel filler cap (3).
3.
Push the hose of the petrol extraction pump into
the fuel tank (2) and pump out the petrol com-
pletely using the petrol extraction pump.
4.
Retighten the fuel filler cap (3).
13.4 Clean or replace the fuel filter
Check the fuel filter if necessary. A contaminated
fuel filter hinders the fuel supply.
Open the tank cover (3) and pull the fuel filter through
the opening using a wire hook (not included in the
scope of delivery).
• In the event of light contamination:
- Remove the fuel filter from the fuel line and
clean the filter in cleaning solvent.
• In the event of heavy contamination:
- Replace the fuel filter.
1.
To remove the fuel filter from the fuel line,
squeeze the hose clamp and slide it down.
2.
Now the fuel filter can be removed from the fuel
line.
13.5 Lubricating the transmission (15) (Fig. 2)
Lubricating the transmission is an important main-
tenance step to increase the service life of the ma-
chine and ensure proper functioning.
1.
Remove the screw (18) and put in the lithium-
based grease. Use a 5 mm Allen screw for this
(not included in the scope of delivery).
2.
Turn the shaft manually until the grease comes
out and replace the screw (18) again.
3.
Attention! Top up with only a little grease. Do
not overfill under any circumstances (max.
5-10g).
14. Transport
Before transport or parking indoors, allow the ma-
chine's engine to cool down to avoid burns and risk
of fire.
14
GB/IE/NI/CY/MT
When changing location, even for a short distance
during work, switch off the engine.
Only hold the earth auger by the handle. Do not
touch the engine housing (risk of burns).
When transporting in a vehicle, secure the product
against tipping, damage and fuel leaking out.
The fuel tank (2) must be completely emptied before
transporting.
15. Storage
m DANGER!
Risk of fire and explosion!
Storing the product near potential sources of igni-
tion can result in a fire or an explosion. This can lead
to severe burns or death.
- Eliminate possible sources of ignition, such as fur-
naces, hot water boilers with gas, gas dryers, etc.
NOTE!
Risk of damage!
If the product is not stored properly, the engine can
be damaged.
- Store the product protected against dirt, dust
and moisture.
15.1
Storage during extended breaks in opera-
tion:
If the earth auger will not be used for a period of
more than 30 days, follow the steps below to pre-
pare it for storage.
1.
Empty the fuel tank (2) completely (see section
13.3).
2.
Start the engine and let it run until it stops. This
ensures that no fuel mixture remains in the car-
burettor.
3.
This prevents deposits from forming in the car-
burettor and potentially damaging the engine.
4.
Add 1 teaspoon of clean 2-stroke oil to the com-
bustion chamber. Pull the starter cord slowly
several times to coat the internal components.
Re-insert the spark plug.
5.
Disconnect the spark plug cable.
6.
Use clean cloths to clean the earth auger.
7.
Store the earth auger in an upright position in a
clean, dry building with good ventilation.
