7.1.5 Behavior in an emergency
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to emergency situation!

The following situations constitute an emergency:
• Failure of vacuum generation, e.g. in the event of a power failure.
•
In the event of a leak, e.g. a hose rupture.
• In the event of a collision.
•
Vacuum drop during handling below the minimum vacuum of -500 mbar into the
red area of the pressure gauge.
Before resuming work with the lifting device:
1. Determine and eliminate the cause of the vacuum generation failure.
2. A load securing chain stressed by the falling load must be replaced.
7.2 Check before starting work
1. Ensure that the battery is charged (see charge level indicator).
2. Check safety devices (> see section Checking safety devices).
 Pressure gauge
 Warning light
 Non-return valve on the vacuum accumulator
 Load securing chain, suspension eyes
3. Check the condition of the suction plate.
4. Ensure that the suction plate is securely fastened.
5. Check the dust filter. Clean or replace the filter cartridge if necessary
6. Drain condensation water (> see section Draining condensation water).
7. Visually check all load-bearing connections.
8. Check device functions.
9. If necessary, clean the vacuum connections and insertion nozzles to prevent leaks.
10. Ensure that the lifting device is properly attached.
11. Ensure that the transportation or lifting equipment used as well as the lifting gear and sling gear are sui-
table.

Inform all persons in the vicinity of the danger zone immediately.
Do not step into the danger zone.
If possible, set the load down safely.
