While the button lock is active, all buttons except for
the "CALL" button and the "PTT" button are locked.

11.14 Setting the transmission power

Your walkie-talkie allows you to set the transmission power (500 mW
or 10 mW).
Lower transmission power consumes less power and increases
operating time. However, the range is reduced as well.
Higher transmission power increases the range of the walkie-talkie,
but more power is consumed and operating time is reduced.
• Hold down the "PTT" button.
• While you are holding down the "PTT" button, press the "S" but-
ton within 1 second to go to the settings mode. "HI" or "LO" is dis-
played according to the current settings.
• Press the "S" button to set the transmission power as desired.
(HI=500 mW transmission power, LO=10 mW transmission pow-
er).
• Let go of the "PTT" button and the "S" button to save the settings
and go back to normal mode.
Please note that the frame of the battery symbol
starts flashing when transmission power is set to
"LOW" (=10 mW).

11.15 Using the headset

A headset with PTT function can be connected to the walkie-talkie.
Only use the appropriate headset which is offered as an accessory.
Switch off the walkie-talkie before connecting the headset.
Connect the plugs of the headset to the "PTT/charger socket" (13)
and the headset socket (6).
