Your walkie-talkie is equipped with a automatic squelch function to
suppress static noise.
11.9 VOX function (voice control,
hands-free operation)
The VOX function allows you to transmit automatically as soon as
you start speaking without having to press the "PTT" button.
Make sure that instead of your voice no ambient
noise activates transmit mode.
• Hold down the "MENU" button.
• While you are holding down the "MENU" button, press the "S"
button to activate the VOX function. The VOX symbol (A) is
displayed.
• Proceed in the same way to deactivate the VOX function.

11.10 Monitor function

The monitor function allows you to bypass the squelch function. This
might be useful when the signal received is weak and the partner
walkie-talkie keeps breaking up. As a disadvantage, background
noise is transmitted as well.
• Hold down the "MENU" button.
• While you are holding down the "MENU" button, press the "CALL"
button to activate the monitor function.
• Proceed in the same way to deactivate the monitor function.
