Clean filter

The rotary valves used are essentially made of graphite and are subject to wear, which is reflected in the
process air in the form of carbon dust. The same interval times must be taken into account here.
The filter cartridges are installed behind the filter cover, which is fastened with 6 grip screws. The C-sepa-
rator is located behind another cover. Loosen these, remove the filter cartridges and blow through from the
inside to the outside with compressed air.
If the filters are still restricted in their function after the cleaning process (clogged, oily, greasy or damaged),
they must be replaced.
Only original spare parts from Gebr. Elmo Rietschle are to be used.
Intake filter - F1
The filter cartridge becomes clogged depending on the degree of contamination of the intake air. It must be
cleaned with compressed air at the aforementioned intervals, but at least every 200 hours.
Protective goggles and an FFP2 mask in accordance with EN 149:2008 must be worn during cleaning.
Intake filter - F2 (KTR 101+141 only)
The pump requires a small amount of additional air (bypass) to optimise the flow. This suction filter is not
used as much but must also be cleaned.
C separator filter - F3
Proceed as follows to clean the filter cartridge, depending on the version:
1st paper filter cartridge (standard)
• blow through with compressed air from the inside to the outside. Ensure that there is sufficient clea-
rance, as an excessively hard air flow can damage the filter material.
2. polyester filter cartridge
• First remove any coarse dirt from the filter by lightly tapping it out.
• Carefully rinse the filter from the inside out with a not too hard jet of water. For stubborn dirt, we re-
commend soaking the filter in a mild soap-based cleaning bath.
• Shake the excess water out of the filter and allow it to dry out completely in the air. When drying with
compressed air, ensure that there is sufficient distance between the filter and the air, as too hard a
flow of air can damage the filter material.
NOTICE
If the function of the filter is restricted even after the cleaning process (clogged, oily, greasy or damaged), it
must be replaced. It should be replaced after one year at the latest.

Always allow polyester filters to dry after cleaning with water. - Danger of adhe-
sion or mould!
Water in the pump leads to contamination of the oil, and there is also a risk of
corrosion!
