3. Intended Use

The weather station consists of a basis station with integrated LC display and an outdoor sensor. The basis station
serves to display different measuring values, e.g. the indoor/outdoor temperature and the indoor/outdoor air humidity,
barometric pressure, rain volume, wind speed and wind direction.
The data measured by the outdoor sensor are wirelessly transferred to the basis station.
Furthermore, the basis station calculates a weather forecast for the next 12 to 24 hours using an internal air pressure
sensor and recording the changes in air pressure, which is then indicated on the display with graphic symbols.
Time and date are set automatically by DCF signal (the DCF receiver is in the outdoor sensor); manual setting is pos-
sible as well if there are reception problems. An alarm function is also integrated.
The basis station is supplied with power by three type AA/Mignon batteries (not enclosed, can be ordered separately).
The outdoor sensor (for wind directions, wind speed, outdoor temperature/outdoor humidity, UV-index, lighting
strength and rain volume) has an integrated solar module. At sufficient ambience brightness, the solar module sup-
plies the outdoor sensor with power; the 2 special rechargeable batteries (enclosed, nominal voltage 1.5 V each)
will be charged as well. If the power from the solar module is no longer enough to operate the outdoor sensor, the
rechargeable batteries will supply the power (e.g. at night).
As a special feature, the basis station can be connected to a computer with the Windows operating system (as of
Windows XP). You can use the enclosed software to save, view or evaluate the measured data. You can also submit
the weather data to www.wunderground.com via the software. There, the measured data will be available around the
world, and you can call and display data measured by many different end devices (e.g. Smartphone, PC, tablet) (not
possible for indoor temperature and indoor humidity).
The safety notes and all other information in these operating instructions always have to be observed.
For reasons of safety and approval, the product must not be converted and/or changed by you. Using the product
for any other purposes than those described above may damage the product. Improper use also may cause dangers
such as short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. Read the operating instructions precisely and keep them. Only pass the
product on to any third parties together with the operating instructions.
