Self-Cleaning Function

CAUTION!
❐ Caution - risk of scalding! During the self-cleaning, hot steam and hot water will emerge from
the bottom of the iron! Be careful during the self-cleaning. Only ever pick up the iron by the
handle and always hold the iron over a sink or similar outlet!
If necessary, repeat the cleaning process several times until no more limescale residues emerge
from the nozzles.
If you do not use distilled water, perform the working steps which are described below regularly
around once a month:
1. Move the steam quantity control to 0, move the temperature control to MIN and pull
the plug out of the plug socket.
2. Fill the water reservoir around half full with water (see the "Filling the Water Reservoir"
chapter). Ideally you should only ever use distilled water for self-cleaning.
3. Place the device upright on a stable, fl at and heat-resistant surface.
4. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed, easily accessible plug socket and move the tem-
perature control to the MAX position.
5. Wait until the device has heated up and the temperature control lamp goes out.
6. Remove the mains plug from the mains socket.
7. Hold the device horizontally over a sink or similar outlet.
8. Press the self-cleaning button. Hot steam and hot water will emerge from the bottom of
the iron.
9. Allow the water reservoir to run completely empty. Tilt the device back and forth slightly to
allow the water to run out of all nozzles.
10. Then plug the mains plug back into a properly installed, easily accessible plug socket and al-
low the device to heat back up to the maximum temperature setting until the temperature
control lamp goes out.
11. Move the iron over a clean cotton cloth to remove the remaining water and limescale resi-
dues.
Separate descaling of the device is not necessary.

Storage

• Before you store away the device, allow it to cool down completely and clean it in the man-
ner described in the "Cleaning and Care" chapter.
• Store the device in a dry, clean, frost-free location which is out of the reach of children. When
you do this, place the device upright on its base on a fl at, stable surface.
